Anki Crossword is an apk, that generates crosswords from publicly available Anki Flashcard packages. With the assist of these flashcards you can study arbitrary things, first of all, words of languages. I learned 1800 english word in 3 weeks with the assist of this apk :) You can learn anytime, anywhere, if you have some time. I learned most of the previously mentioned words during commuting. All you have to do to achieve this, that you have to search a awesome pack for your learned language. Generate crosswords from it, and fill them a lot of times. The apk has a built in tip feature, so if you don't know some word, you don't have to find it in a dictionary. The key point of the learning process is, that you have to fill every crossword as quick as you can. If you fill them more times, you will tag that, you will be faster in every round, and will use lesser the tips as before. For me usually the third fill round was the point, when I was able to fill all words without any hint. You can find and download Anki Flashcard packages within the tool.
