Artemis Place Bridge Simulator is a mini game where you take the role of a bridge officer in a sci-fi capital ship. You ARE your favorite hero from your favorite place television present. "This is Star Trek through the Rock Band filter. You are playing together as if you were on a ship." In another words, the mini game works best when you gather a group of 6 mates, pretend to be a Starfleet officer, and save the galaxy from the comfort of your computer. To assemble a full bridge squad, you need people to fill these roles: The Captain The Captain is simultaneously the most necessary member of the squad and the least involved in terms of physical mini game play. In an ideal setup with a full squad, the Captain doesn't manage any of the bridge stations, instead focusing his/her efforts on monitoring the main screen, prioritizing targets, and timing the interactions of the squad. The Captain needs to maintain order among the squad members so the whole affair doesn't become a shouty mess where you go warping into some bad-guys grill just to immediately eat a dozen photon torpedoes. Helms Officer The helms officer flies the ship, maneuvering in war for optimal positioning, going to warp/jump when its time to haul ass, and managing the displays for the main screen. Attentive helms play is essential for successful war, helping to receive the drop on opponents, avoid fire, and gain target lock. Helms officers also share control of the main screen display and shields. Weapons Officer The weapons officer manages the beams, torpedoes, nukes, mines, and shields for the ship, locking onto targets and blowing them to heck when the Captain commands it. Weapons officers have to prioritize which sort of torpedoes to load into the tubes, with a selection of Mines, Homing Torpedoes, Nukes, and ECM. Weapons requires a awesome deal of coordination with Helms and Engineering to be successful, setting up the shot and then giving the Weapons systems the power important to create it count. Engineering Engineering controls the very beating heart of the Artemis, managing the power systems and usage for the entire ship. If a given system has no power dedicated to it, it doesn't work. Engineering can add more power to something to create it work better, e.g. create the ship turn faster, beams fire faster, etc. Doing this will cause that system to overheat, so engineering manages cooling systems. Engineering also manages the hurt control systems, prioritizing ship's repairs when hurt is taken in war. Interaction between engineering, helms, and weapons will create or break any given combat, as a sudden loss of power to steering, weapons, or shields can have drastic consequences, and an additional boost can give you a large advantage over a more strong ship. Communications Officer The Comms officer can transmit orders to friendly vessels, request a place station build a kind of ordnance, and snoop on opponent communications. Comms can also taunt opponent ships, getting them to attack your ship instead of a place station or friendly vessel. Comms can also order them to surrender. Finally, comms can signal RED ALERT! (which doesn't do much aside from blasting a really annoying sound from everyone's console, and making the radar retical turn red) Comms could hit RED ALERT a lot. Science Officer The science officer runs the advanced sensors of the Artemis, detecting and assessing opponent ships as well as finding place anomalies for the Artemis to investigate. Science's ability to scan the shields of opponent ships provides Weapons with vital info need to prioritize targeting, and its ability to search anomalies can grant your ship a much required power-up when you don't have time to dock with a place station. How a lot of people can play? Each ship has 5 bridge stations and a captain, the server allows for 6 ships. Multiple stations can be controlled per user, but each ship NEEDS at least 2 users (helm and weapons).

Michelle Scott: Cross platform crowd pleaser We dig this out whenever we have lots of folks over and it's good. Supports WinPC, iOS and Android device. Can run multiple ships in the same mini game (versus or co-op) and is customizable for those who are into that. As long as all devices have the client, PCs cooperate with iPhones and cheap Android device tablets without problems. Run mini game on PC. Apks are client for the main mini game.

Unbelievable Group Mini game It took some effort to set up, but this is a good group mini game. Check out the YouTube video for a demo of what my mates and I enjoyed. 5 stars. Hope they add more scenarios in the future to hold interest.

Jared Smith: Can't play, but still good mini game. When my mates downloaded the patch to be able to play with me on my smartphone while theyplayed on their computers the mini game crashed, still does not work. I have played with mates on fully pc squads, and it's dozens of fun. If you have three or more mates with android device devices I would highly suggest this ver.

Homer Carroll: Moto G bug I've played on a smartphone with mates and loved it, but on my Moto G the keyboard is dismissed when I touch to enter the IP address. Touching the IP text box causes the keyboard to dismiss, and no text entry is created.

Should use some work on the mechanics of the warriors... and maybe like a visual hail of another captains and thier comms officers like requesting hails and items... more story oriented maybe. But another than thwt. It was some of thenbest gaming ive ever experimced in my life. I would advise anyone playing it to check out the manual thoroughly though.. its no fps...

Nathaniel Westcott: Best thing ever The only down side to this unbelievably good, totally grass-roots indie mini game is that you will have to test to explain to everyone you have ever known how mind blowingly good it is. Then you have to convince them to spend about 2 hours setting up a pile of computers and trying to receive them to all work on your network all at once. But once you receive over that hurdle and your captain pulls your ship and squad out of dock for the first time, you will never be the same once more. Buy this. Play this. You're welcome

Stephen Koebel: This Is The Final Frontier Artemis is good for getting some of your mates together and setting up epic matches. You can do anything from a scout ship to a large Juggernaut ship. It's possibly the best place ship sim I have ever encountered, it's especially fun when you have 2 squads in border fight where you can coordinate mine runs through opponent lines
