This is also known as Sixteen Soldiers which is a two-player abstract tactic board mini game which belongs to Sri Lanka and also comes from India under the name Cows and Leopards. This mini game is related to the draughts (checkers) and Alquerque in which users have to hop over one another's pieces to capture them.
