  Andrew Housel: First the awesome: When the info is posted, it's reliable. The awful: Not all major fires receive reported, or in a timely fashion. HOWEVER, understand that over-tasked people are responsible for updating the fire info. You can't expect up to the hour updates when the basic focus is stopping the fire. Secondly, this is for CalFire incident reporting, not smaller municipal or town departments. It's nice that CalFire even takes the time to modernize on major fires not under their jurisdiction. The annoying: Apparently no matter what I do, my place is permanently defaulted to Sacramento...

  This apk helped us a good deal latest summer when we had a very really big month long fire about 8 miles away. It also helped us identify is smoke we smelled was from a fresh fire or smoke drift.

  Rhonda Creech: It sends late alerts, up to four hours late. Latest night a fire started in our place. I didn't hear a peep. It doesn't present on the map. Is there other apk that works? This one apparently doesn't.

  Scott Paradis: Setup sucks Learn the definition of optional. I don't wish text messages of fires near me. Setup says optional, but won't continue unless I turn on my GPS. If I wanted it on, it would be on. Allow me know when it's truly optional and I'll reinstall the apk.
