  A Google User: A God Send Being a ebook geek I love Calibre and used it extensively in conjunction with my Kobo Touch. Naturally when I finally purchased my first Android device smartphone (Nexus 7) exporting my eBook library to my device was one of the first tasks on my agenda. After fiddling about with manually placing my ebooks on the SD card and being left unsatisfied by the lack of customization options in the Akido reader I stumbled across this apk. Being a self confessed 'noob' I was slightly lost at first as it wasn't immediately apparent what I had to do to sync the device with my library. Eventually, I found the 'connect/share' button on the desktop tool and then clicked 'begin wireless connection'. After this I was away, syncing my vast library with properly formatted author and ebook names complete with customized front covers. Thanks to the squad at Calibre for making eReading such a pleasurable and special experience, and for placing the power back in the hands of the reader rather than the Amazon kind corporations.

Some initial little issues were immediately and effectively addressed by the author -- effort on his part that results in the apk becoming useful for a much larger number of players.   A Google User: A must have for Calibre players with really big libraries The apk sync'd my 700 title library with no trouble. Being able to find and download from my master Calibre Library ended my fruitless find for a reader apk with an perfect catalog, this will work nicely in tandem with my preferred reader apk. The UI is intuitive and responsive but I can't wait to see future enhancements. My ISPs dynamically assigned IPs create it a tiny less convenient to use than it should be but that's not the developer's fault.

  A Google User: Good apk - local XML file browse would be good Apk seems to work well and 3 bucks can't go wrong. Instead of pointing to a Calibre server, would be nice if you should point it to a local XML OPDS file. That method a person should use Calibre2OPDS to generate the library with links to local EPUB files, sync to Dropbox and then down to device via Dropbox and use this apk as a generic local OPDS browser... Would be excellent solution to my Nook Touch library problem!

  A Google User: Love this apk! Most people are considering issues with Calibre to be issues with this. For the review below that called this a scam, I am sorry you should not figure out how to go to this authors website and read his description on how to configure Calibre to serve your library. He did not have to write the Calibre guide mind you, he did it to be helpful. Another people are looking for this to "sync" their library... do you really read 12 ebooks at once? It is not supposed to "sync" your library, you check your ebooks out, 1 at a time. The person asking for calibre2opds, once more... learn to use Calibre. Go to http://yourserver:port/opds or http://yourserver:port/stanza I am having little problems when downloading some things with this apk now that I have a Nexus 7 though. Nothing major, Usually monkeying with it gets me the expected results...but sometimes it just fails to begin a download. Normally happens when I receive it, realize I wish to modify it...then delete and test and redownload from my server.
