About the application:

The CHAMP® (Cardiac High Acuity Monitoring Tool) apk was developed by Children’s Mercy Kansas Town to assist caregivers of babies who are born with single-ventricle heart illness and are in the critical inter-stage period between the first and second stages of surgery document and communicate certain info to baby’s care squad. During this inter-stage period, babies are at risk for rapid changes in their condition which may require changes in management or hospitalization. The apk can be used to document certain pertinent info of inter-stage babies at home. The apk then communicates this documented info to the baby’s care squad nearly instantaneously. As baby’s caregiver, you may input the following data into the apk to be sent to baby’s care squad to aid in illness management: • Oxygen saturation • Heart rate • Intake of formula or breast milk (by mouth or tube) • Output of stool, wet diaper, or vomiting • Videos (maximum of 15 seconds each) • Red flags (your concerns or questions) The apk is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, mitigate or prevent illness or health conditions. The apk is a program caregivers can use at home to help with illness management of inter-stage babies. Your baby must be actively enrolled in the CHAMP tool at Children’s Mercy Kansas Town, or other participating health care provider, in order for you or other caregiver of your baby to use the apk functionality. The CHAMP apk is accessible in nine languages, including: English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Filipino, Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese.
