The architecture is so attractive it takes you breath away, and the place between the mountains and the lake is absolutely magical! Visiting Chillon Castle is like stepping back in time. Each room reveals yet other part of its history, as well as the everyday life and habits of the court of the House of Savoy and of the Bernese Bailiffs. Discover the 14th century murals in the Duke of Savoy’s bedchamber and in the chapel, and see the really big collection of wooden chests and furniture in all the rooms. The four good reception halls, where sumptuous banquets and feasting took put in the past, will plunge you right into the life in the Middle Ages. But never forget that Chillon is a fortress.
