Never had to use a plug in device when using it on either smartphone. Picks up everything and works good with my acoustic and electric (even unplugged) guitars. Love it!

Michael Ellis: Best tuner I've found so far. Love this apk. Have used it for a few years on both Android device and IOS. The display is simple to read and the choices of root, temperament and scale display are almost all anyone should ask for. I'm particularly fond of the Movable DO scale options. One request for the developers: Please consider adding a Nashville Number scale option related to Movable DO, i.e. "1 2 3" instead of "Do Re Mi ..." . The Movable DO display is terrific for singers, but I search "1 2 3" is better for instrumental work.
