Darker can lower your screen brightness to extremely low levels, to assist prevent eyestrain during the night. Use the built-in color filter* to adjust the color of your display, excellent for filtering out harsh white backgrounds during the night. Users can either make batter the gratis ver to Pro through in-app purchase, or directly purchase this ver (for countries that don't help In-app purchases) - both are the same in terms of functionality. Features only in the Pro ver: » Auto-On & Auto-Off » Begin at boot » Lower brightness below 20% » Darken navigation bar » Custom filter colors » Root mode » Customizable notification buttons • Up to three buttons can be added for fast access. • Buttons to increase and decrease the brightness (+5%, -5%, +10%, -10%) • Buttons to set a specific brightness (@0%, @10%, @20%, ... , @90%, @100%) • Fast toggles (stop, pause, restart, color filter) Note: When manually installing APK files, Android device blocks the "Install" button from being pressed when Darker is running. This is NOT a bug. It's a protective measure to prevent malicious apks from camouflaging the install button. Pausing Darker will solve this. *The color filter is related to how the desktop ver of f.lux works. Choosing a redder color will reduce more bluelight emitted from the display. A Google user: This is the best apk I've found that integrates screen dimming and a color filter to protect your eyes. I used to use a combination of two apks to do what this one does, and this one looks better while doing it too! My only recommendation is to create it so you can set your place and have the filter turn on when the sun goes down.

A Google user: I purchased this full ver to see if it would dim the navigation bar on an unrooted Nexus 4, and was prepared to receive a refund if not. Needless to say it has dimmed everything, and allows me to dim the screen even further than before -- hence it's a champion. The UI is also far better than the another related apks I've tried; awesome job!
