Dashboard Cast is a personalized homescreen for Chromecast. Make and organise widgets to your liking and display them on your TV. This apk requires a Chromecast or a Cast enabled device to work. ---- This apk is developed on my gratis time, I do what I can to create this apk work and bring fresh features. To assist help the development of Dashboard Cast, you can create a donation from the apk ---- You can now make alarms to automatically trigger casting of your dashboard to your TV. Widgets accessible : - Clock and date - Weather: receive current and future weather forecasts - RSS: view RSS or ATOM feeds on your TV - Calendar: read your phone's calendar and display it on your TV - Stock: choose from a list of stock quotes - Audio : play audio streams or podcasts (beta). Choose a podcast from the apk, or enter a url to an audio file or stream or playlist and listen to it on your chromecast. Supported audio file and playlist formats : mpeg (mp3, mp4, etc), .ogg, .pls, .xpsf, .m3u. - Map: Weather layer or traffic map with directions information Features accessible : - Select your own backgrounds to display behind your widgets (beta) - Customize the look of your widgets More widgets and more personalization options coming in future versions. Upcoming widgets and features : - Note widget - Picture slideshow widget - Fb and another social media integration - Email widget - Integration with another audio services (Google Melody and others) - Device notifications widget - Better widget position, options and size control - Extra interaction with widgets on Chromecast from your device Wish to recommend features to add to Dashboard Cast? Choose the contact option in the apk or send an email to [email protected] Some Dashboard Cast widgets are still considered experimental. If there are any issues or problems, use the in-app contact button or send an email to [email protected]. If you want to assist translate the apk, send an email to [email protected] with the language you want to translate into. Permissions : - Read smartphone state : Required to display ad. - Approximate place : the weather widget has an option to use your current place to receive weather data. The permission is required to access the town you are in to display proper weather data. - Read calendar happenings : the calendar widget needs this permission to send your upcoming happenings to Chromecast. If you do not have a calendar widget set up, the application does not look at your calendar data. - Google Play billing service : important to create in-app donations to remove advertisements. - Prevent smartphone from sleeping : if the smartphone sleeps while connected to the Chromecast, the connection is interrupted. Therefore the application needs to prevent the CPU from going to sleep in order to hold the connection begin. - Keep device boot completed : required to schedule alarms when the device is powered on. - Access and change wireless connection state : allows Dashboard Cast to automatically turn on wireless connection without going into the device settings.

Very configurable, alarms to begin a cast whenever...really neat to wake up in the morning to your traffic, weather, news, calendar, and an audio feed of NPR right there waiting for you. Definitely worth a little donation for the functionality provided (especially if you receive Play credit through Google's survey apk :).

JD Powell: Good job! Good apk! I've set-up to display the local weather and local traffic on the map. Good before heading to work. Took sometime to search awesome rss feeds. The local town gov site has good feeds on happenings and local news. Helpful advice: when you search a rss feed and begin with google, Google displays a notice about Google reader not being accessible. Tip. The rss feed link is buried in the site address on the page. Just slash & paste into the dashboard rss setup. Looking forward to more upgrades with the apk!!
