This application requires root DriveDroid allows you to boot your PC from ISO/IMG files stored on your smartphone. This is ideal for trying Linux distributions or always having a rescue-system on the go... without the need to burn various CDs or USB pendrives. DriveDroid also contains a convenient download menu where you can download USB-images of a number of operating systems from your smartphone (like Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE and Arch Linux). Around 35 various systems are accessible at this moment. You can also make blank USB-images which allows you to have a blank USB-drive. From your PC you can shop files onto the USB-drive, but also use programs on your PC to write photos to the drive. Notes • This application uses features of the kernel that may or may not be available/stable on your smartphone. Tests have shown most phones work without issues, but please hold in mind yours might not (yet) work out-of-the-box. • Most kernels help emulating USB drives, some help emulating CD-rom drives and kernels with the right patches help both. • Most Linux-related ISOs can be booted from USB drives, but some ISOs can only be booted from CD-rom drives or require some type of conversion. Justin Butler: Installed the gratis ver a lot of years ago, and after a couple uses bought the paid. Easily one of the best apks I've ever spent cash on, and one of the first installs on fresh devices. Apk has truly been a lifesaver! As good as the primary USB kind mounting of Linux photos is, it's having a kernel that supports booting CD-ROM emulation that makes this apk truly good, and one of the best tech programs I have at my disposal. Robert Gutjahr: Carry all your bootable programs, like partitioning, memtest, linux and windows installers with you on one device. I just want it was possible to copy files directly from the smartphone to the fresh img files (this is relevant for the ps4 modernize file). My first manual attempts with losetup failed unfortunately too.

Patrik Evan: Had problems with 4.4.2 and spent a lot of hours looking for solutions online came across an article that talked about people having problems with android device file transfer and the MTP not reading correctly and not being able to switch. The suggest fix was to use this apk and be rooted of course so I gave it a go and bam it works. I am able to use android device file transfer on Mac with this apk no problems and like it so much I paid for the paid ver. Thanks once more.
