This server works a proxy for the Envisalink 2DS/EVL3/EVL4 card connected to a DSC Alarm Panel. It will let you to, among another things, self monitor your alarm system and allows your smartphone to work as part of your home monitoring and home automation system. You can remotely access your alarm system from anywhere your smartphone can access the internet. Use of the EYEZ-ON service is also highly suggested but is not required. The DscServer runs on a dedicated, always on, always connected android device smartphone or smartphone running within your network. Using it, multiple instances of the DscKeypad Apk and DscKeypad widgets (included) or another related apks (such as Mi Casa Verde Vera or another automation products) may connect simultaneously using the "fan-out" capability provided. The DscServer appears to any client as a faster ver of the Envisalink card itself with some extra capabilities (e.g. place and partition labels). The server requirements are very modest, I use an old LG smartphone to run my entire home automation system. Suitable fresh android device phones are accessible for $10-$30. This easy automation extension can rival the much more expensive services like Rogers Smart Home and Time Warner's IntelligentHome. Or run the DscServer on a PC or any another OS supporting java. Use the enhanced DscKeypad included in this apk to unblock the additional features included in the android device or java ver of the DscServer such as remote access. logging, and custom command widgets. This is a sophisticated server with a lot of capabilities and requires some expertise to configure. I am satisfied to help as required. I do offer a full refund if you're unable to receive it to work in your environment or are not happy in any way. DSC partition, place, and panel status are accessible as sensors in the rule engine, and panel commands can be sent to the DscServer allowing simple integration with your home automation. o Full logging persisted on Google Drive o Safe, encrypted remote access using your smartphone or a web browser o Multiple simultaneous connected clients o System status cached and trimmed to active zones/partitions to reduce network and client load o A centralized place for customizing your system such as place and partition labels. o self monitoring with immediate email or SMS notifications: - alarms and problem - configurable place opening/restore - loss of connection with the Envisalink card - phone/tablet power loss (will continue on battery) - phone/tablet low battery warning - phone/tablet connectivity loss - midnight status check-in (to confirm connectivity everyday) - use safety happenings to trigger actions such as posting a web website (e.g. to turn video recording or motion detecting on/off, changing the temperature in a wireless connection thermostat, turning), send an android device intent to another android device apks (e.g. my Wemo apk to control your lights), etc. - and much more... o customizable content for eMail, SMS, UDP messages o Enables home automation - send the DSC application commands using android device intents from Tasker, Automagic, etc. o On screen widgets for submitting custom commands (locally or remotely) o NFC help to send custom commands, including arm/disarm, etc. SMS messages can notify you of alarms or problem even if the internet connection to your alarm system is slash or if your private smartphone is not currently attached to the internet. Remember, DO NOT expose your Envisalink IP connection to an unprotected network; communication provided by the card is not safe. Expose (port forward) the safe port (only) to outside your safe network (after registering the clients you will let).

Romany Kemp: I've been using it for a few weeks....I've had perhaps 4 questions - and MikeP responded quickly each time. I would really like to see a 'nix ver that you can run/install/ from the command line - but that a minor point. Currently running on a android device converted HP Touchpad. Good tool for the cash. I will comment that if you wish to access the apk from the internet I don't recall a lot of info explaining that to the general player. I did not have any problem but I do networking items for a living....and there is a risk punching a hole thru your FW - no method to know what exposure that provides (I use a port method above 20000). When I receive cycles I'll probably make a isolated DMZ for the server to live in - and control what it can access... R-Kemp

Mark Kravjansky: Good work Mike creating a work around to the envisalink module allowing only 1 connection. It takes a bit of work to receive it going but once you receive it set it's awesome and very stable. Smartphone keypads are the best.

Shay Zafrir: It does take some time setting things up and it does require a dedicated smartphone that stays on and connected to the LAN but once you're done it is a very nice and useful apk. basically it means two things: 1. you can have the keypad wherever you wish (including out of the premises if you forgot to activate your alarm for ex) 2. you can set any alert you'd like. finally, the reason I leave this review (my first review for an apk) is the customer service. Initially, I had a trouble with the tool because my smartphone was jumping between multiple routers. The response time of the guy who developed the apk and his effort to solve the trouble was just as impressive as the apk. bottom line: buy with confidence.

Anthony Veloso: Good apk. Good developer. This gives you much more control over your safety system from anywhere. I had problem connect remotely at first so I emailed the developer and he got back within mins a list of problem shooting advices to solve my trouble. $8 is a bargain. You'll end up saving much more by self monitoring with this apk . UPDATE 03/23/2017: The one thing I would like as a feature is push notifications for happenings, specifically arm/disarm and alarms. It would create it easier for me to trigger Tasker happenings

Everything works well once it has been configured, which is not obvious at first but once we understand the principle, everything works good. Travis Kelley: I use this apk running on an old android device smartphone. It talks to the envisalink card in my dsc alarm panel and I can control all aspects of my alarm as well as opening/closing the garage door through a relay I installed. No complaints at all. Mike is the best! I've purchased multiple of his apks and love them all. P.s. receive ring plus mobile for gratis smartphone service and your alarm can text you if your Internet is down.

Bruce Clarke: Simple to set up server in Win7. After installing Java, I place a shortcut that runs dscserver in the Windows startup folder. Did port forwarding. DscKeypad works on all my Android device devices from everywhere. Mike the dev was really helpful. Love it.

A Google user: Apk requires me to go into Google developer mode to set it up, and then is really flaky. Errors messages occur regularly, and are in raw Java form against in a useable, player friendly form. Solution is overly complex. Do I really need three distinct apks on my smartphone to monitor the system? Feels like the apk works on a 'satisfied path' some of the time, but is definitely not ready for a general consumer.
