Smartphones are able to detect earthquakes thanks to the accelerometer on-board each device. When an earthquake is detected, players with the application installed are immediatly alerted. Since earthquake waves travel at a finite speed (from 5 to 10 km/s) it is possible to alert the population not yet reached by the damaging waves of the earthquake. For the scientific info about the project please refer to the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America journal at http://goo.gl/lFBLYm The Earthquake Network apk allows you to keep the true time alerts of the earthquakes detected by the network, to manually report an earthquake you felt and to chat with another people during an earthquake emergency. When an earthquake is detected in true time near your place, the apk can send a automatic SMS and e-mails to a list of contacts with your precise position in place. This can be useful for rescuing without the need of player interaction with the apk. You can also send a request of assist or you can say that you are ok with just one click. The apk also shows info on the earthquakes detected by the national and international seismic networks. Note that the info on earthquakes detected by national and international seismic networks is usually published with a delay ranging from a few mins to a lot of hours, depending on the seismic network.

Sarebbe utile un'opzione di opt-out per evitare che la posizione dello phone venga segnalata in modo preciso sulla mappa; di fatto, in place con pochi utilizzatori, e' facile risalire all'identita' di coloro che usano l'applicazione con tutto quel che ne consegue in termini di privacy etc.

Victor Avramoiu: I have used this apk for some time now and the detection is not very usefull (noyification is ok). It detects even a pencil drop on the same table as the smartphone but it did not detect some little, short earthquakes (level 3-4 on the Richter scale, 100 km away, felt for a few seconds in my place).

A Google User: My constructive criticism is as follows: -All Web Master Details could be able to be translated into all the options this apk offers. -Any contests could have the guidelines where there simple to search and understand in all the language offer for this apk. -The Player name could have atleast twenty places to place avatar player names or the person name. -when there are false alarms or abuse notifications they could be abruptly.
