The Echo Meter Touch Ultrasonic Modules sense ultrasonic signals, digitize the signal, and transmit the ultrasonic data to your the apk on your Android device device. The EMT2 offers exclusive features and unprecedented ease-of-use for a handheld bat detector. LISTEN TO BAT’S ECHOLOCATIONS EMT2 translates bat echolocations into frequencies that are audible to humans using two technologies. Wildlife Acoustics’ patented True Time Expansion (RTE) allows you to listen to bats in true time with unparalleled fidelity. RTE maintains the timing and tonality of the original echolocations. Heterodyne (HET) listening via manual and automatic tuning is also accessible, for those accustomed to that method of hearing bats. VIEW THE ECHOLOCATIONS ON A SPECTROGRAM A real-time spectrogram shows the frequencies and timing of the echolocations. Scroll back in time and zoom in on previous "bat passes." SEE MOST LIKELY BAT SPECIES IN REAL-TIME*** The Auto ID feature analyzes the echolocation calls and suggests the two most likely bat species matches in true time. Will Pridham: This apk does a ok job at recording bats. I'm using it with the Echometer Touch 2 with a bluetooth Garmin GLO receiver and have encountered few problems. The mapping is my largest gripe as cluster mapping could be shown as a circle with a number in it not with your custom icon. This would be much more useful. Also, the option to not record tracks or at least present them would be useful. This clutters the map and is often unnecessary. I would suggest this product. Updated to 5 stars.

A Google user: The recent apk modernize is now allowing my Echo Meter Touch 2 Pro module to work on my discount Moto E4. Been using the ios compatible EMT modules since introduced a few years ago, but now I don't have to carry an ios device. I've used a lot of various at detectors, and these are really good, and will hopefully receive 'bat listening into the hands of a lot of more people.

A Google user: I feel compelled ( as a happy Samsung J5 player ) to leave this review, to test to counteract some of the negative views previously published. I am extremely satisfied with mine, and if I should give the Apk 10 stars, I would – but I am limited to 5. For a begin, to those who complain that the Apk does not work, and that you are expected to “buy a module” to create it do so – what on earth were you expecting?? The description clearly states “ The modules and this companion apk . . . . “!! If you installed an apk to enhance print output, would you expect to receive a gratis printer?? Of course not – so no need to tag the apk down because you misunderstood the requirement. If there is an incompatibility problem, or you explore a possible bug – report it back to the developers. I have found them very responsive to queries, and prompt and efficient at dealing with any bugs that are discovered. But you do need to create contact to give them the occasion to sort it out! And lets be fair – it cannot be expected to work straight off with every Android device smartphone out there – especially older models. But once more, if you have an problem, ask them about it – the guys at Wildlife Acoustics will do their best.

Robert Jacques: Simple and Fun to Use. Quick Helpful Help Have had the Echometer and apk for about two months now. Have always enjoyed watching bats fly around in the evening but never had any idea what they were. Echometer indicates likely bat species around you based on the signature of their ultrasonic echo place pulses. Took an IR film once with my trail cam to see how a lot of bats were around. Lots of bats in the air.

A Google user: I have the semi-pro microphone and I am satisfied with it in practice. I sometimes operate this alongside a plain heterodyne detector, and while the EMT2 doesn't always register sounds the older detector does (sensitivity/auto-gain on higher spec sensor?) the simple method it makes and tags recordings is a good feature. I do see some occasional lock-ups after 10-20 mins or so, and the USB connector seems sensitive to knocks (dirt in the socket?). Using on Lenovo A10-70 F smartphone. Android device 6 but I am sure I upgraded OS earlier this year (2018)

A Google user: Using it on a Nexus 5. Generally works well but will only run for about 2-2.5 hours before it crashes, so is a trouble if you wish to survey what bats are around for a whole night. Also used it with a Nexus7. Once more it works but crashes and causes a reboot.

A Google user: I am using the Apk on a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) with Android device 8.0.0. This model does not appear in the Wildlife Acoustics Compatible Devices list, nor in the Incompatible Devices list. Everything works very well and I am identifying bat species nicely except that it crashes when I choose GPS View. Is this a bug specific to the A5 or do I have a setting wrong somewhere?

Rosso Allen: Worked good for about 2 hours of detecting, then started receive feed back at 40 and 60khz which is causing it to not pick up anything apart from the random readings. Feeling gutted about buying the echo touch unit.
