Edge Slider gives you an invisible edge slider along the left edge of the screen that gives you direct control for the media volume and/or the screen brightness at all times, no matter which apk is in the foreground. This is done in a non-intrusive method on a thin invisible place along the left or right edge of the screen. To begin it, just begin the apk, adjust the options as required and enable Edge Slider through the main switch. (The first time you will need to grant some permissions depending on your device.) Once the main switch is on, you may close the apk (Edge Slider will continue to run as a service in the background). There will be an icon in the status bar indicating that the service is active. Great also for devices with broken hardware volume buttons! - Customizable: control only volume, only brightness or both - Optional double width of the edge slider - Optionally: when changing the volume, the system's graphical volume slider appears shortly, which allows you to control the another volume channels - Player friendly design - Minimal use of resources - Starts automatically at reset if it was active before shutdown Permissions: 1. Display over another apks: Required in order to be available at all times from the homescreen or from an apk running in the foreground. You could always be attentive with apks that require this permission, since it gives access to the screen content and allows to capture player input. However, since this apk has no network permission, there is no method that any data can be sent out of the apk, so no need to worry. 2. Modify system settings: This is required only for controlling the screen brightness. If you plan to use Edge Slider for volume control only, you may leave this permission disabled. 3. Run at startup: This is required to automatically re-activate the service if it was active prior to restarting the device. Note 1: In some cases and depending on your device, the service might be terminated by the system and the icon in the status bar will disappear. In this case, we suggest to manually disable the battery optimization for the apk (via system settings or apk info). Note 2: The icon is important in Android device for any service keeps so it keeps running in the background. In case you wish to disable it, press and keep on the apk icon, then Apk details > Notifications and disable "Present notifications".

Pavel Christiny: Brightness works really well, but the tool crashes my S22 when I test to use both volume and brightness. Not sure if possible, but it would be even better if you should use both sides for each slider independently. 2/6/22 Edit: That recent modernize fixed it, thanks!

AJ Jivdaya: With both requested permissions enabled, the trigger zones still fail to activate like 99% of the time. I wonder if this has to do with the apk not using accessibility settings, like beautiful much every another related apk I've used does. Requesting "draw on top" probably is not sufficient. Also, when the trigger does successfully activate, the level toast notice just shows the initial level, but doesn't modernize with the sliding gesture.

D Dean Carroll: Works. Needs refinement. Slider was a tiny difficult for me to search at first but temporarily enabling the Volume UI helped. Ok adjustment is difficult - little movement makes extreme change in volume. Mute/Restore tap option would be helpful. Worth $2, more with above refinements. p.s. A volume indicator, say 0 to 9, on your icon at the top of the screen would be very helpful. I have found myself frequently touching the Edge Slider to confirm the current volume. +1 star for listening.
