About the application:

EDS (Encrypted Data Shop) is a virtual disk encryption tool for Android device which allows you to shop your files in an encrypted container. VeraCrypt(R), TrueCrypt(R), LUKS, EncFs, CyberSafe(R) container types are supported. The tool can operate in two modes. You can begin a container in EDS or you can attach the file system of a container to the file system of your device (i.e., "mount" the container, requires root access to your device). Main tool features: * Supports VeraCrypt(R), TrueCrypt(R), LUKS, EncFs, CyberSafe(R) container formats. * You can make an encrypted Dropbox folder using EncFs. * Select among five safe ciphers. * Cipher combinations are supported. A contatainer can be encrypted using a few ciphers at once. * Encrypt/decrypt any type of file. * Hidden containers help. * Keyfiles help. * Container mounting is supported (requires root access to your device). You can use any file manager, gallery tool or media user to access files inside the mounted container. * A container can be opened directly from a network share. * Network shares can be mounted to the file system of your device (requires root access to your device). A network share can be mounted and dismounted automatically depending on the accessible Wireless connection connection. * All the standard file operations supported. * You can play media files directly from the container. * You can use a hand-drawn pattern along with a password to receive easier access to your container on a device with a touch screen. * You can setup a database inside the container to shop different kinds of info including logins, passwords, credit card pin codes, etc. * You can use indexed find to quickly search files or database entries inside the container. * You can synchronize your containers among multiple devices using Dropbox(R). * You can quickly begin a folder (or file) inside a container from the Home screen using the shortcut widget. Media files are played using http streaming with local socket connection. "Modify or delete the contents of your SD card" This permission is needed to work with a file or a container that is located in the shared storage of your device. "Run as startup" This permission is used to automatically mount containers on boot. "Prevent smartphone from sleeping" This permissions is used to prevent device from sleeping when a file operation is active. "Google Play license check" This permission is used to check the license.   • Daryn Hammel: I bought if for use with VeraCrypt containers made on windows and it works flawlessly now. When i bought it, it didn't work and I chose to give developer a few months to work out any problems and it works excellent now. Android device Naugat nexus 6P rooted stock rom. Edit: for some reason whenever Magisk Module is enabled, if I begin eds it just force closes and cannot begin apk until I disable module and reboot. Then I can begin, but when it says SElinux needs reloading and I click No, I just freezes apk and I need force stop it. If I click yes, device reboots and apk just prompts me for reloading SELinux once more.

  • Wesley G: Spectacular! (See extra note) This is exactly what I wanted to safe my private data on my smartphone. If you create a container on your PC, remember to alter the properties when you add it to the apk on the smartphone to choose if it is truecrypt or veracrypt, what algorithms etc. It would be nice if it were a bit cheaper but I can't really complain because it is good, most importantly if you have root access on your smartphone you will love this, else the gratis lite ver might be enough. To add fresh files to your mounted container (requires root for mounting) via copying them from the PC, do the following (got this from the developer)... Alter the properties on the container once you have added it to the apk and set the mount place to /storage/extSdCard Once you mount it after doing this and plug the smartphone into the computer, the folder that would include your external SD card will now only include your mounted encrypted container. Then once you are finished copying files to the container "close" or dismount the container and alter the mount path back to what ever you previously had it as.

  • Vishal Singh: TRUECRYPT container not opening I have purchased eds but when creating TRUECRYPT container from within this apk, it is not opening and showing "external command failed, command: eds-setup, error code:255, output: wrong number of parameters for function mount device, open_with_edsmntd_and_wait: error - 1" please assist otherwise my purchase would be of no value and also existing container FAT filesystem is also sometime not working. Assist me to receive this two issues sort out and you receive not 5 but 10 stars from me. I am impressed with EDS

  • David P.: Good Apk, Just what I required I requested a module over the weekend for my device and early the following Monday I got a response with the mount module for my rooted TF201. I can mount and unmount trucrypt files made from my PC at will. I don't see a method to do partitions, only file containers. To date this is the best truecrypt option for Android device I have found. A better UI and partition mounting would be a nice addition! The only thing unexpected was the notification in the lower right corner when EDS was loaded saying basically that its service was loaded and running all the time. An option to remove that would be nice for someone who plans to hold the volume mounted all the time.
