EdSpace: The Social Learning Network. Any time a teacher is in need of help, tip, or fresh ideas, they have access to a global community, on-demand. EdSpace transforms the method we engage with podcasts, ebooks, blogs, and each other. Powered by serendipity, EdSpace isn’t about forming closed groups, building a following, or having structured interactions. On EdSpace, there are no followers, no likes, no invites, no retweets, no groups, no influencers, no view counts, and no promotions — just dedicated educators learning, laughing, and supporting one another. --- Here’s how it works: The LiveGuide is your homebase on EdSpace. When you sign up, we receive you started with a few channels, some only visible by people at your school, and others that everyone on EdSpace can engage. From there, browse Tutorials, adding Channels (think hashtags) that interest you to your LiveGuide. Because your LiveGuide is fully customizable, you can add, rearrange, or remove Channels at any time. On Channels, you’ll search video Posts, limited to 3 mins, that delete in 72 hours. Why? Because these posts help conversations, and teachers don’t have time to join a conversation from two years ago. But don’t worry, Posts can be saved or shared to Twitter. EdSpace uses three formats for sharing ideas and co-creating learning. First, is EdSpace TV. Every teacher who signs up gets their own Channel. It can be used for reflection, idea sharing, or not at all. Second, is the Idea Exchange tutorials. Ever listened to a podcast and wished you should ask a question, share a thought, or meet the guest? This will be the put to do just that. We’ll have hundreds of channels supporting conversations from podcasters, authors, bloggers, and keynote speakers. Third, is Ask a Teacher. From fresh teacher help to veterans looking for assist with technology, Ask a Teacher is the put to receive true tip from true teachers. Here are the key features of EdSpace: Noise Control: Using filters on each channel, YOU decide which posts you see based on what you’re looking to do. Need an idea from an author, with 50k Twitter followers? Simply apply those filters and only posts that apply will appear. Or looking for tip from someone just like you, in your district? Once more, apply and engage. LiveGuide: private and customizable list of Channels (i.e., your homebase), where you can add or remove Channels whenever you want Video Posts: short (less than 3 mins) and temporary (deleted 72 hours after latest interaction), Video Posts serve as conversation catalysts, driving connection on EdSpace Channels: topic-specific, interest-based home for Posts; most Channels are public, but personal Channels give access to only certain people (like colleagues at your school or organization) Guides: groups of Channels curated by organizations and/or centered around particular subjects or formats (e.g., EdSpace TV, Idea Exchange, Ask a Teacher) Alerts: push notifications for people you designate, when they post or go live Post-it Board: a text-based method to ask questions on a Channel --- Leveraging short video posts, EdSpace makes it simple for educators to ask questions, receive answers, share learnings, try ideas, and build relationships that celebrate their special interests, expertise, and superpowers.
