  Robert Herron: This recent modernize plugged all the holes that were keeping it from being my complete HTPC solution. After Microsoft killed Netflix and damaged Live TV on Windows Media Center, this apk allowed me to use the Nexus User as the front end for my HTPC, and run the Windows box unmanaged and untouched in the background with Emby Server and it's help for ServerWMC for LiveTV. File playback of TV shows and films is good, Live TV is now totally functional and usable. The only thing that was not 100% was that when starting playback of recorded TV, skipping commercials took a tiny bit longer than I liked... but that's only at the beginning of the playback. Once it buffers the video enough, it's very responsive to skip forwards and back.

  Craig Gomez: Brilliant! Yes, the apk seems is a bit primary, but with the correct server setup, it works good! Streaming obviously depends on your bandwidth, but I've had no problems streaming 4K and 1080p x264/x265 videos to my Shield TV. I suggest this over Plex because it's begin source and doesn't track any telemetry.

  Ryan Mahin: First review: Good apk, but subtitles were buggy and video playlists were not supported. Updated: Both problems were fixed and i received prompt help on their forums. Neither of those things should be said for Plex customer service. I have since cancelled my PlexPass and have switched to Emby. Hold up the good work :)

  Armin Mertens: Working really well except for aspect ratio Awesome apk except for the aspect ratio. Everything that is in an another aspect ratio than my 16:9 1080p television gets stretched out. Please fix this. Add a button like in the non TV apk (cropped / zoomed / best fit) or something like that. Using DLNA via Kodi on my Android device television for now.

  Lance Mayfield: Good Begin Interface is clean with simple access to libraries. Playback is decent...audio does a very short skip at times, even connected at AC with server connected at full Gig. Look forward to future updates.

  Felix Schröter: I own a Sony 4K Android device TV (KD-55X8505C). Generally the apk seems to be awesome but I noticed that some features don't (always) work like resuming a video. Resuming mostly takes a while and then plays without sound. The fast-forward also sometimes causes the audio not to play anymore, the video lags a bit after forwarding and sometimes the complete playback stops. Also when navigating up in the on-screen controls for the playback the cursor disappears and won't come back. I'd recommend that these on-screen controls are changed to the default Android device TV ones like those in Google Play Films and YouTube. Also there doesn't seem to be a quick option to enable/change subtitles and audio tracks. I love that this Apk uses Material Design in most places but it should be materialized a bit more.

  Tony Skurat: I currently have the NVIDIA SHIELD and was really hoping for a better experience. The largest problem is the no audio passthrough. If Plex can do it so can Emby. I really wish to receive rid of DirecTV but the live TV portion doesn't quite slash it especially without audio passthrough.

  Michael Bond: I have to adjust audio -200ms on playback for my Nexus User. For my Nvidia Shield TV, or my laptop, this is not a trouble. I can play the same video on the another devices, and the audio is perfectly sync'd, but on my Nexus User, it is not. My laptop is using the web emby, and my Nvidia shield and Nexus User are using the emby for android device television. I am hesitant to purchase premiere because of this :/

  Marcel Botha: Hit and Miss I had to buy a month subscription just to try playback on my smart TV (android device 4.2.2). Apk works good ! It took some playing around with settings to receive everything running smooth. With the recent apk modernize, android device 4.2.2 is no longer supported. So guess I'm stuck using Kodi.

  Amanda Musolff: NOT for PHONES OR TABLETS Modernize: 5/13/16 i have been told by the developers that this apk is for Android device TVs. I don't understand why it would say that it is compatible with my devices if it's not build for them. I have no experience with Android device TVs. Previous review: Trying to choose a file is so incredibly frustrating! The menu snaps to a separate menu. That's not even mentioning the notifications that you can't dismiss. Ugh.

  Normand Bissonnette: For a gratis & begin source apk it is not so gratis I installed emby on my Linux server and then on my nexus user looking for a gratis method to stream my videos. After a month I have to donate to continue using the apk on the nexus user. For the cash plex is a better choice less bugs, a lot less bugs. So I have uninstalled the apk and will uninstall the server off of my server. My two cents worth don't force people to donate until the bugs are ironed out. I will use kodi which is still gratis and begin source.
