The Museum has placed more than 700 Bluetooth beacons throughout its 45 permanent halls. These little beacons give off signals that your smartphone can detect (when Bluetooth is enabled). Your smartphone calculates your position based on detecting three of these beacons simultaneously. This triangulation is not always excellent, especially in certain places like really big, multi-level halls, meandering walkways, or stairwells. Your smartphone could be able to detect the hall that you are in and provide turn-by-turn directions, but sometimes the “blue dot” is not exactly in the right put. In some rare cases it will even be missing. Moving to other place and waiting a few moments will usually fix the issue.The Museum’s gratis AMNH-Guest Wi-Fi also varies in strength throughout the complex. Certain materials and really big exhibits (i.e. the Blue Whale) either absorb or reflect the radio signals used by Wi-Fi, further complicating this technology. If you experience difficulty connecting to Wi-Fi in a particular part of the Museum, you can usually fix the problem by moving a short distance away.NOTE: Bluetooth must be turned on for full functionality. Martin Wright: Best museum apk I've used. Should do with including more exhibits and making them a bit easier to search on the map but I found it very helpful that the map detected what floor you were on and updated accordingly. Without that I really wouldn't have been sure where I was a lot of the time since there's so a lot of routes up and down you can take.

My family decided to go on the gratis tour and it was a blast, but if I were here at the museum myself, I'd definitely use this apk. Also, the WiFi at the museum works. (Select the "guest" one). Begin Bluetooth for complete functionality!
