Then the apk starts monitoring that place, and you receive a notification when a fire/hotspot is detected within your place. Regular monitoring continues even when the apk is not currently in use. Its active fire algorithms are still being refined by the NASA VIIRS science squad, which investigates data problems such as omissions and false alarms.
