This application persistently keeps GPS enabled even when the screen turns off. That method you will not lose gps fix when your smartphone goes to sleep. Advantages from Lite ver: ♦ No ads ♦ Notification displays satellite status and current place data ♦ Smaller size ♦ Custom tile, so you can start/stop the application same as you start/stop wireless connection ♦ Widget help, so you can start/stop the application from main screen ♦ Apk shutdown from notification bar(Android 4.2 and newer) ♦ Auto shutdown if screen is off for specified number of mins ♦ Auto shutdown if battery gets below set percentage ♦ It can auto begin on boot ♦ Less permissions needed This application is very useful when you are using any application that uses GPS, such as Google Maps, Geocaching, ... For some phones, the apk even makes the GPS refresh faster so you are getting better place informations and better accuracy. Please hold in mind that this happens only on some phones! Permissions Application requires some permissions. Allow me explain why: ♦ Ok GPS place: Well, you wish it to access GPS, right? :) ♦ Boot status: To be able to begin at boot if set so in settings ♦ Modify system settings: To receive background photo of the smartphone. I do understand that this is not logical and I accept, but the apk crashes without this permission on some phones :( Of course, when you are using this apk, GPS is constantly on so the battery might receive depleted faster. This application might not work with all the phones, as some of the manufacturers modify the Android device in a method that disables the application to function properly. That type of behaviour has been noticed on, but not limited to, some Alcatel phones. Please try the Lite ver of this apk first, to see if it works. A Google user: I've used this for over two and a half years and found it to be perfect. Just upgraded to Android device Pie, and found I had to turn off battery optimisation for the apk, otherwise it was closed down by the system unexpectedly.

A Google user: My smartphone would always turn off the GPS even when it was supposed to be saving a track. Not awesome when hiking/hunting/etc. Plus I usually have no cell coverage out in the bush, so the smartphone only has the GPS, which can take a long time to receive a fresh fix. This solves the trouble by not losing it in the first put. Doesn't use much more power.

A Google user: I've been using this for a while now with Locus. It keeps the GPS active even when Locus is stopped, which means I don't have to wait for Locus to to do a GPS fix before it starts recording tracks - it starts immediately, and I don't lose GPS in between recording tracks. Over the latest few journeys the only time I've lost GPS is in a railway tunnel, and a fix is obtained very quickly on leaving the tunnel. I hope it stays nice and easy with no added "features"

Jeff Stange: I have a boat and use the anchor pro apk that depends on a GPS signal to work. No matter what I did, my smartphone automatically turned off my GPS to save power after an hour of not being used. This apk allows me to sleep without my anchor alarm going off every hour.

A Google user: worked beautifully for years, but does not work anymore in recent android device release. i gave both keeper and the apk that needs background updates the unique permissions others have noted, to no avail. so unhappy! i hate google for sabotaging the gps feature.
