  A Google User: The only apk I have bought and it is working good. I have been using Groove IP in India for over a month now. I have a Samsung smartphone and home WiFi over DSL. The calls to/from USA are consistently better than what I used to receive from my cell or home phones.

  A Google User: Good Tool I'm using GrooveIP on 4 Samsung Galaxy MP3 Users. Together with Google voice this turns these into WiFi phones. It does take a bit of tinkering to receive things working correctly. I had to go into Settings > Troubleshooting and check Hold Screen On and Partial Wake Lock to receive the device to ring when it was in sleep mode. You also have to follow the instructions on google voice to forward your number correctly. But once you do these things you have a smartphone and without the cost of a contract. I use a pay-per-minute cell smartphone for when I don't have WiFi, usually in the vehicle. Texting is a bit complicated with this system, because although you can set it to ring both devices, and then reply the WiFi device when in range, and not reply the cell smartphone, you don't wish it to send texts to both devices because you receive charged per text received. I still don't have a good solution for this. I test to allow people know if they REALLY need to reach me, to text my cell number. But that's not a good solution. Anyway, I love this apk. Bought 4, one for each device in our family.

  Rock E Horror: A must-have apk! On my cell plan, I have 500 talk mins and infinite data. Groove is very simple to setup, and I never have to dip into my plans limited allotment. I also like having the ability to be more selective with who I give my "true" smartphone number to. Unwanted and unsolicited calls are now a thing of the past. The only time quality can be iffy is when I'm getting calls from an iphone.

  A Google User: Truly a must for cash saving players This apk is just good. Military folk could jump on this one. If you are overseas, deployed, basically not in the US and don't wish to pay for an international smartphone or roaming, receive this apk. Assuming you have a Google Voice acc. This works over wireless connection and works good. Skype's mobile apk doesn't work over wireless connection. Google Voice doesn't work over wireless connection. Skype pc is $5.99/month, this is $3.99 once. Period. I can't say enough about this apk. Thank you

  A Google User: Highly suggest I have a pay-as-you-go (prepaid) Android device smartphone, but spend most of the day within WiFi range. With GrooVe IP and Google Voice, most of my calls are gratis. Still, if I'm not in the library, I still have prepaid mins as a backup... My smartphone bill? About $6 a month. The apk receives frequent updates (which visibly improve functionality).

  Joe Mendola: Good tiny application Used it this month in Poland. At first I thought I was going to be disappointed because I couldn't receive it to work in the first hotel I was in. I later figured out they had a proxy/firewall that was blocking UDP. When we were at family and mates houses and another hotels it worked good and had awesome quality sound. If I was to ask for anything it might be that you should specify a default country code so I wouldn't have to add 1 to every smartphone number I called in the USA.

  A Google User: I cannot receive it to do much **UPDATE** Purchased a 4G smartphone, the Groove IP works PERFECT over 4G. The person on the another end does not even know its not a traditional call. DTMF works well also. Very satisfied with this tool.!!! I have been using this tool for about a week now. It makes a call 80% of the time. The DTMF keys (for keying in extensions) work 10% of the time. The recipient hears a massive echo of themselves when they talk. On speaker-phone its a complete disaster. This is all with 5 bars mind you. Using it with 3G, android device 2.2, Virgin Mobile Triumph. Configuring it with GV took < 30 seconds. I would have given it a ZERO BUT. Its only five bucks--a lot for an apk but not a lot of cash overall. It does work but the reliability is such that you cannot use it for anything but playing around. Once they excellent the audio codec AND 4G becomes more of a standard (instead of being considered bonus service) , I imagine it will work better.

  A Google User: Good, been using it to call home from abroad saved dozens of cash, simple to use. works good on 3g. gratis calls to US from Anywhere in the globe is just good. method better then skype because i can call true numbers not usernames. to all the morons, if you dont have decent 3g signal its not going to work just like any another internet communication tool, dont blame the dev.
