  Christine Dixon: Unbelievable dictionary, especially with the paid expansion. The gratis ver was sufficient for my first year, but the extra dictionary has a lot more jargon and awesome example sentences. I love the connectivity to Anki and looking up example sentences online. The developer is very responsive and constantly improving. I've used this apk for over 4 years and it has taken me from beginner to upper intermediate, and I still use it every week.

  Ras Raeb: The best mobile dictionary I have encountered. However, install the apk *before* you come to China, because the paid add-ons officially cannot be installed in China (and going around these restrictions is possible but time consuming). The gratis ver is fully sufficient for short trips to China (if you know some primary Chinese grammer). The paid add-on dictionary and features (like camera recognition and unique phrases) are really invaluable if you are living here for a longer time.
