The HazMat Evac Apk provides police, firefighters, safety, and emergency management personnel simple access to map-based improvised explosive device (IED) standoff distances and hazmat spill evacuation places. The IED standoff data is based on the 2016 Emergency Response Tutorial (ERG) and FEMA 426, Reference Manual to Mitigate Potential Terrorist Attacks Versus Buildings. Players can also define custom IED types and standoff. Hazmat evacuation and reference data is based on the 2016 ERG. Features of the tool contain: - Display IED Mandatory Evacuation and Shelter-in-Place Zones for 8 pre-defined bomb sizes and player defined custom IED types - Display Isolation Zones and down-wind Safety Zones for over 3,000 chemicals - Display distance to glass breakage, injury, and structural hurt based on bomb size - Info displayed on Google Maps, with related functionality to zoom, find by address, current place, and map/satellite/hybrid views - Automatically retrieve current weather from Weatherbug (www.weather.weatherbug.com) or forecast weather from the National Weather Service (US only) or Meteorologisk Institutt (Worldwide); weather can also be player input or input using the phone’s compass functionality - Results shown geographically as well as text based - Find and display predefined points of interest (schools, nurseries, hospitals, police/fire stations, and government facilities) from Google Find services to identify key facilities within the incident place - Run roadblock analysis service that identifies within seconds the optimal place of roadblocks to isolate the incident place - Put and label points on the map to identify key places - One-button summary of results (text, map photo, map data shape and kml file attachments) in an email to disseminate to another responding personnel - Contains reference material from the 2016 ERG and necessary chemical contacts for fast calling - Shop map photos (including legends) for reference when connectivity prevents access to network maps For more info, go to http://www.firstsupporttools.com

A Google user: As far as I can tell, it uses the forecast wind direction from NOAA - at least for my local weather. These forecasts are accessible in three hour increment, so it models where the plume should be in three hours, not now. Manual entry works, in 22.5 degree increments (half-winds). Awesome until the weather station is up and someone is running a true ALOHA analyis (or whatever model you use). So, as always, do a reality check on the wind first.
