About the application:

iAccel is a performance meter designed to try the acceleration and braking performance of your car. In use it displays a series of gauges to monitor performance and a continual graph of chosen parameters. When performing a try the results can be displayed on screen and are stored in a CSV file for simple export if further analysis is needed. In addition to brake testing, 0-30 and 0-60 mph acceleration tests are accessible together with their metric equivalents. Standing ¼ mile acceleration, standing 400 m, 0-80 mph, 0-120 km/h tests, Happening Data Recorder (EDR) and Crash try modes are also accessible in this ver. EDR mode records the previous 60 seconds of data when the Record button is pressed. iAccel also has a continual recording mode which simply records the data to a CSV file received while the device is operating. To avoid running of of place, continuous recording is limited to 5 mins. Crash mode is related to Continuous recording except that all the auto-levelling features are completely disabled. A calibration check feature is also accessible in the this ver so you can check the accuracy of the accelerometers. To use the apk, your device could be mounted securely in the car with the long edge of the device perpendicular to the direction of travel. Drive to the place where the try is to be performed and begin the apk. This launches the try screen and automatically calibrates the device to the gradient at that place. The Restart button can also be used to recalibrate the device at any time and is best performed when the car is stationary. This avoids any bumps in the street distorting the calibration. You can change the kind of try you wish to perform using the Choose Try screen which can be accessed by pressing the Menu button. For Brake and Acceleration tests press the Arm button when you are ready to start the try and perform the try. You can press the Arm button at any time, even when the car is in motion. The results will be displayed automatically once the try is complete and contains two seconds of data prior to the begin of the try and a short time after the try has finished. The limits of the try are highlighted on the effect graphs. For Continuous and Crash mode tests, press the Begin button to begin recording and press the Stop button to stop. When in EDR mode iAccel will record the previous 60 seconds of data when you press the Record button. These try results are not displayed automatically but results can be displayed from the Files options accessed by pressing the Menu button. Tapping the graph panel cycles the display between acceleration, speed, orientation, and rate of rotation. For ease of use, double tapping the Speedometer duplicates the Begin / Stop / Arm / Cancel button and double tapping the right-hand gauge duplicates the Restart button. When in use the Auto-Level mode automatically compensates for changes in gradient to ensure a match between the GPS speed and the speed derived from the accelerometers. Two speedometer pointers are displayed to present the speeds, the orange coloured pointer shows GPS speed and the blue pointer the speed derived from the acceleration data. The apk uses a combination of GPS, accelerometer and another sensors and is only accurate when the device is operated correctly and all sensors are receiving suitable signals. Please note that continued use of GPS can dramatically decrease battery life. This apk is designed for use off-road and any performance testing could only be performed off the public street network.
