The Implicit Association Try (IAT) is a procedure that detects automatic and unconscious associations between ideas, concepts and categories, providing a measure of how beliefs, attitudes and stereotypes may be more or less powerful and deep-rooted. In this case, the Gender-Career IAT often reveals a relative link between family and females and between career and males. How it works: are presented a set of words to classify into groups, as quickly as possible, making as few mistakes as possible. The interaction with the screen can be done in 2 methods: through 2 virtual buttons at the bottom of the screen, or, in the second mode, the screen is split into 2 parts and you can interact by simply pressing the left side or right side of the screen (in the apk are given detailed instructions on how to proceed). In the Settings menu, you can select the mode of interaction and access to some research options. At the end of the try (which takes about 5 mins), will provide a brief interpretation of the results obtained based on the response times recorded by the tool. In this regard, the developer wants to clarify that this interpretation is a hypothesis and has no claim to absolute validity. A Google user: I had no idea what the apk was supposed to do but having taken the try it is quite awesome at explaining the results and what they mean. Short lived use apk though so once you have used it...expect to uninstall.

seb v: And like another comments, ii would love to have all the another tests accessible on the implicit project. Thank you so much!

A Google user: Good apk clearly helps demonstrate some of innate biases we all have as a effect of growing in western culture. BUT the order of the experiment could be change! Place the try men/career + women/family first before men/family + women/career. In doing so the effect of the experiment is created more clear since the tests will be presented in the order of increasing difficulty. You will feel the tests receive harder and thus see your innate biases at work!

A Google user: It shows scores based on how quick and how a lot of things u place in the wrong column part of my trouble is if u r not quick at typing with your thumbs ( I am not) then u suck at it oh well it's cool though not a keeper though

Joel Lehmann: It's good to have this as an apk; wouldn't it be simple to load it with a plethora of another tests?

T1gerFang: While the idea of this is awesome, I'm not sure if it works for me. My reaction time between each reply was beautiful much the same on every item. So that really puts me at a disadvantage since it says I have tiny to no bias one method or the another. Sooo.... I may or may not (not sure). So - eh. It's an interesting apk though. No flashy graphics to slow you down which is nice for this type of apk.

Kaitlyn Rebecca Powell: I'm a bit disappointed in the app...it doesn't provide a clear and concise opinion, and it only compares your tendencies to compare men with work and woman with families, or vise versa. It has changed Every time I complete this try.

Heather Lynn: The try gets you used to one system first and then changes. I would be interested to see results where the opposite is first

A Google user: I created mistakes less frequently later on as I got better at it. I'm sure I'd be able to do it with no mistakes after a tiny practice, regardless of "implicit bias". It's not very scientific, and I don't think that the answers could be taken particularly seriously.

Michel Desjardins: It's a very awful try whenever and where ever it was invented. It critically lacks depth. Consider remaking it using general semantics (Null-A).

Damarcos Estevez: Dont think it's a very accurate try. I feel primed into relating one word with a side, not a gender. Fairly sure if I started with opposite sides, results would have been backwards.

Writabrat Sharma: This try isn't true or any productive. my try went well but I trust, instead of testing my social biases, it was testing my memory and reflex. Instruction to do it quick confuses the brain about sides. Why does the first four category task begin with Male or career and female or family? To set the bias in your mind, and when the fingers receive used with the sides, it's only the memory that gets fooled. Try concept is awesome but the method of testing is stupid.

A Google user: Would be nice to cover more topics besides just gender bias.

Erin Hugenroth: I would like this to have racial and sexual orientation IATS as well.

Melissa Gibbons: Would have liked extra options for various associations. It only has gender/career/family but not race, sexuality, etc.

Anne O'Nimus: Try results Feedback - I scored as having a very slight bias towards female/career. Actually, I think I had a bias the another method as I noticed it was much easier to remember where to tap when the categories were female+family, so I concentrated more and was more attentive when it was female+career to compensate. :)

S Astro: Testing motor skills. Could begin the another method round. No Agender option. A sorting Carol diagram would probably give more accurate results although the programming would be more complex. (And algorithms for results also).
