About the application:

iMusicTuition is a primary melody guide apk. This apk is useful for those who are interested to learn Indian classical melody but are not able to search a teacher. This is usually the case with those people who are non-Indian residents. This apk is also useful for those students who are beginning to learn Indian classical music. The purpose of this apk is not to create you an expert in Indian classical melody. But the purpose is to introduce you to the primary concepts of Indian classical melody so that: 1. You begin to understand 'Indian Classical Melody' in more depth and will have fun it more while listening to different classical singers. 2. You will be in a better position to begin professional training with a professional teacher if you have gone through all the chapters of this app. The apk is divided into 10 chapters. Each chapter comprises of written content accompanied by musical samples (sung by the developer himself) and sometimes photos for illustrations. These chapters are scattered through 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Each level ends with an introduction to 5 various Ragas. The 'Beginner' level comprises of the first four chapters which introduce you to the primary concepts of classical melody. This level comprises of the following concepts: 1. Shruti 2. Swara & its forms 3. Saptak & it's types 4. Raga and its components 5. Alankaar, Alaap, Taan 6. Aaroh & Avroh 7. Thaat, Jaati, Laya 8. Taal and its types and components 9. Introduction to Ragas: Bhupali, Brindavani Sarang, Des, BeemPalasi, Baageshri The ‘Intermediate’ level comprises of the next three chapters which introduce you to some deeper concepts of classical melody. This level comprises of the following concepts: 1. Different styles of singing 2. Khayal Gayan and its types 3. Taanpura: Its parts and learning about how to tune it 4. Pattern Making: Introduction; Logic behind it and its numerical representation; It’s descending form; all explained with some sample patterns 5. Introduction to Ragas: Jaunpuri, Hameer, Deshkar, Shankra, Jaijaiwanti The ‘Advanced’ level comprises of the latest three chapters which introduce you to a few advanced concepts of classical melody. This level comprises of the following concepts: 1. Tirobhav-Avirbhav & its characteristics 2. Singing styles another than Khayal - Dhrupad, Dhamar, Taraana and Bhajan 3. Process of writing a taal in various speeds 4. Introduction to Ragas: Puriya-Dhanashri, Miyan-Malhaar, Vibhaas, Gaur-Malhaar, Todi
