  A Google user: I think everyone is making the same mistake I created, thinking by 'Home' they meant 'Household'? I tried connecting to my Household WIFI for ages and it just kept failing. What it actually means by 'Home' is your 'Mobile/Cell Phone's' internal WIFI. Like 'Home' is short for 'Mainpage' on a site for example. Turn on your Camera, then begin the ‘Phone’s WIFI’ on your Mobile/Cell Smartphone and choose the Camera "CM4A1CF-............" from the list. This then connects the Smartphone and Camera WIFI connection. Now begin IP Live Cam and choose the Camera from the list. You have to connect the Smartphone to the Camera like this before opening IP Live Cam 'Every Time' you wish to use it! I hope this helps!

  John Greenwood: Here's how I managed to receive it connected to a WiFi network: Step 1 - Place the camera into Access Point mode (turn it on then keep down the restart button for about 5 seconds until the lights flash). Step 2 - Connect your smart smartphone to the camera's WiFi network...its WiFi SSID is a long string of letters and numbers separated by a hyphen. Password is blank. Step 3 - Run the Apk on your smartphone (while your smartphone is connected to the camera's WiFi network), tap the + icon and choose Add Fresh Online Camera. You could see the camera listed in the Find results, (name is a long list of letters and numbers and IP address will probably be 192.179.8.1). Tap to add it to your cameras. Step 4 - From the front page of the Apk, tap the Settings icon (cog icon) for the camera then choose Advanced Config. Step 5 - Choose "WIFI Config". It will scan and detect accessible WiFi networks. Choose your SSID from the list & enter the password (it will agree alphanumeric passwords here) then tap Begin Configuring WiFi. It will reboot then connect to your WiFi network. Step 6 - Connect your smartphone to your WiFi network and you could see the camera showing as online now.

  zach shaw: worked once now wont connect. the IP address of the camera hss moved from .1 to .20 the camera just goes 'offline' when you test to connect because the IP address has changed but the apk doesnt detect this or let you to manually change the IP. please assist me resolve this

  HomeStead Digital: I can connect my camera ok but like most, if you wish to record, you can't leave the viewing mode while recording, you can't even lock your smartphone. There is also a problem with the tool as it won't let you to save any of the settings you create. e.g. motion detection, ftp and email setup etc. at this point I can't even record to the SD card on the camera itself, only to my smartphone. Please should someone fix this problems!
