So, why would you need an apk to access Pubmed when you can pull up pubmed.gov on your browser? Because, the apk does what Pubmed cannot do. For those of you who have not heard of Pubmed, it is the largest database of research studies on this planet. So, what is the trouble with Pubmed? When you find, allow us say for 'schizophrenia' , it spews out dozens and dozens of info that you cannot really create sense of. You then wipe the sweat off your brows, go to advanced find and look for, allow us say, randomized controlled trials; it then spews out other ton of data with info from obscure journals and questionable studies that you really don't know if you can believe. And all this, if you can figure out how to use Advanced Find on Pubmed! We are not blaming Pubmed..it is what it is..just a database. It's just that we cannot use it as it is. Here comes our apk. So what does it do? 1. It organizes studies by impact factor of journal. So if you are a medical doctor who searches for a medical condition, you would see results from JAMA, Nature, NEJM etc. at the top. 2. It is the ONLY platform in the globe which can filter study by the sample size/number of topics. How in the globe does it do that? Same method you do it..by reading through the article! Except it is a million times faster Pubmed does not keep journal impact factors and there are third party apks that can link Pubmed journals to impact factors, but still, there is no method to sort by impact factor of the journal. The another trouble with Pubmed is misclassification. For example, a meta-analysis is not classified as such in a lot of cases. Our apk overcomes that..how? Once more by reading through the abstracts! The apk easily enables players to find for updates in a particular field or illness process over the latest few days. The apk stores all saved data on the cloud. Saved files can be accessed via an simple to use file browser. A common login could assist in sharing files between players and in research collaboration.
