iRegatta is a tactical Regatta application for android device devices, used for yachting and sailing regattas. You can test "iRegatta" instead of "iRegatta Pro", it'll give you 4 mins of testing at each startup, and you can then buy all the features you need as In-App purchases. The built-in GPS unit and the special graphical possibilities of these devices, create them ideal for such an application. IMPORTANT: iRegatta requires internal GPS or Bluetooth/WiFi connection to NMEA data, to receive the sailing data needed for calculations. iRegatta has been accessible for iPhone/iPad for years, and has a lot of useful features. Now the Android device ver has related features, except that NMEA instrument data also can be used with a BlueTooth connection (or a Wireless connection connection). If you have a Android device smartphone anyway, this is a cheap method to introduce you to the benefits of a GPS device, to assist you leverage your regatta sailing performance. A downside is of course the fact that most phones are not waterproof! But there are products out there, you can place your device into, to create it waterproof and still be able to operate it while sailing. In this method you can either mount it near your another instruments on your keelboat or strap it to your arm if you are sailing a dinghy. Features: Main View. Here you can see your the 4 most necessary readouts, for instance Heading, Speed, VMG and Wind Direction. By tapping and holding one of the 4 main readouts for 2 seconds, they become configurable. Scroll down the list to chose the info you wish to display. A lot of of the possible readouts are only updated if you have NMEA input. If navigating towards a waypoint, you can configure your readouts to display distance/bearing. There is also a lift indicator, showing you if you have been lifted by a wind shift, and graphs showing the development in your speed and VMG over a configurable amount of time and a performance bar. Wind direction. Set your wind direction by storing your heading while sailing on upwind on starboard and port tack, or simply kind it in. Begin view. Here you have your begin countdown (including sync), and you can tag your starting line and iRegatta will calculate the distance to the line and indicate the favored end of the line, if wind direction is set. Waypoints. Navigate to your favorite pre-stored waypoints, make a route of waypoints or make a fresh temporary waypoint by distance/bearing. Stats view. Here you can see your place (Lat & Lon), Max speed and Trip odometer. On the left hand side there is a polar diagram. tap it and it'll increase in size. Change the wind speed to see the various polars. These polars are the base for the performance bar in the race view. NMEA If you select to turn on "NMEA input via BlueTooth" in the iRegatta setting, you will be able to keep instrument data from your boat, if it's able to transmit NMEA info using BlueTooth. Be aware that info from various instruments can be transmitted in various NMEA syntaxes. Not all NMEA syntaxes are implemented in iRegatta. AIS If you have an AIS receiver that transmits AIS data as NMEA sentences, an AIS radar-like display will present all vessel info received.

A Google User: #1Race Apk now that voice added As a tech nut/geek, I envied the laptop racing tool the large grand prix squads used, but too expensive. Impractical to tie up a squad to carry a smartphone. With i Regatta, I have the excellent, cost effective solution. My tactician or I Strap my Droid Bionic to our forearm in a waterproof case. All the graphics I need or should wish: highly visible or audible. Special pre- begin graphic to burn time or to hurry up one of my favorites. Download polars easily: create a spread sheet, choose csv as format for saving.

Viorel Udma: Unacceptable. Since this was a paid apk (and not a cheap one!), the help to the paying customers could have been better. I required access to an older ver in order to install the apk on Android device 4.0 and the developer sent me to solve the trouble with Google when in fact was very simple to point to a download link on their website or simply send me the old ver.

The Famsters: Crashes and crashes! My pebble is updated to Pebble time and doesn't seem to help it and crashes when clicked Import. Also, used to work on my Nexus 7 2012 but somehow it keeps crashing now. Paid apk that doesn't work now. Please fix it!
