Ma Name: Awesome program for contextualising Japanese sentences. Breaks down info for each sentence, even colour codes kanji used by which jlpt level it belongs to. This is not an apk for fresh learners though, as although it provides translation for vocab it will not explain what particles are/do, and won't explain necessary grammar points such as verb forms. Suggested for at least intermediates with grammar knowledge and kanji meanings.

The interface is really good as it highlights the current sentence and then allows you to look up the relevant vocabulary for each sentence and also necessary grammatical explanations. It is listening, reading and a textbook combined.

Jelly Squiddles: I bought JA Sensei before and found out about JA Audiobook today. For anyone who hesitates, this apk is a truely good program to learn japanese. Audiobook with or without translation in kana&kanji. Any "normal" Japanese learning ebook with CDs costs far far more than 5 Euro and does not have any of the a lot of nice features of this apk. I hate to pay cash for any apk, but this one is definitely worth it!

I am most definitely a beginner, and have found Raphael's way of breaking down the sentences in the stories to be incredibly helpful. Being able to look at each sentence, broken down into particles, nouns, verbs, with each being able to be further explained is very helpful. It's slow going, learning Japanese, but with patience this apk will break down the info of the language. Definitely suggested!

Ben Gaskin: I'm very impressed after just 5 mins. Question for developer, in the study reference, why is the vocab list 英和 English to Japanese only? Perhaps there could be a 和英 toggle switch...? This would create it much easier to look up unknown words. Also, are favorite sentences an uncompleted feature? I can't search anywhere to look them up once I've starred them. Perhaps it could be called tag text or underline text.

GinoftheWind: This apk has such a wealth of knowledge. But, more importantly, it provides an audio activity that is closer to real-world listening. In class, textbook audio activities are 100% with vocab and grammar you know. JA Audiobook is letting me train my ear for grammar I DON'T know and to pick out that part from grammar I DO recognize, which is such an necessary skill that I didn't even realize I was missing. (And then with the grammar breakdown, I can learn the fresh grammar and hopefully will recognize it the next time it pops up!)
