Boaters, skiers, and all water enthusiasts alike have related location-related needs. Primary questions posed before heading to a lake may contain, “What is the temperature outside?” or “Is it windy?” Some activities require knowledge of more specific parameters such as exact wind speed, water temperature, or capacity and traffic level at the lake. Presently, there are no known fixed-position water surface temperature sensors at any lake in the United States. Weather service equipment is not designed to monitor lake conditions, and thus forecasts may not be accurate, updated as frequently as desired, or specific enough to exact lake place. Determining just these few bits of info would require visiting multiple sites, and certain data may be unavailable entirely. Moreover, it is nearly impossible to compare all this info concisely to decide which of a lot of lakes in a given place would be the best fit for one’s desired activities that day. We at LakeMonster have made an easy-to-use mobile interface capable of retrieving and compiling the most accurate and up-to-date info on lake conditions aimed at helping players create these previously complex decisions. But we took it a few steps further—upon request and agreement, we provide partnering lakes with cameras and sensors to take their lake info to the next level. We also add in points of interest, such as rental shops, bathroom facilities, restaurants, and more. The player can simply download the LakeMonster apk, check our accurate sensor info and maps at the specific lakes of interest, and along with live video feeds, have all the pieces of info required to create an informed decision regarding which lake to visit for the day within seconds. Conditions can also change quickly, but there is no current system for the park ranger or lake management to communicate with visitors. Our apk would notify players of entrance wait times, closings, occupancy limits, and adverse conditions. Having such features on a mobile apk capable of sending push notifications and aiding the player in finding alternative plans is ideal. Extra features to create trip planning even easier and all-inclusive within our apk, such as scheduling and purchasing reservations and rentals, may be added with extra business contracting.
