About the application:

Learn the Guidelines of the English Language, starting with letters and their sounds with Guidelines of the American English Language: Letter Sounds! Created by a Colorado Credentialed Teacher, The Guidelines of the English Language –Letter Sounds is a fun and engaging method to learn both the letters of the alphabet and the sounds that each letter of the alphabet makes. Users will be introduced to each letter of the alphabet in chapters, where they will play three various types of levels that teach both letters and letter sounds, each with increased difficulty. Each level requires the player to match the letter of the alphabet either to its own capital letter (a/A; b/B), or to an photo that begins with that letter sound (a/apple). Levels become more challenging by first taking away the first letter of the photo, then taking the whole word away leaving only the photo to match to the letter to its sound. This mini game may seem repetitive to some, however, by listening to the letter sounds that each letter makes and visibly matching those letter sounds to the correct letter multiple times, the user will start easily recognize the sounds each letter can create and will be able to match the letter to the sound. This is an early building block that will assist users decode words as they progress in literacy. Common Core Standards (Language Arts – Reading/Writing): Common Core Standards (CCSS) (Language Arts – Reading/Writing) and individual state standards, detail what students could learn in Language Arts throughout the United States from Nursery school through 12th grade. More info about CCSS can be found at: www.corestandards.org The Guidelines of the American English Language – Chapter 1: Letters and Their Sounds align with 2 Common Core State Standards for nursery school and two Colorado State Standards for Preschool students. These standards include: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.1.D-Recognize and name all upper-and lowercase letters of the alphabet CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.3.A- Demonstrate primary knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the basic sound or a lot of of the most frequent sounds for each consonant. COLORADO STATE -preschool: (related to some another states)-Demonstrate understanding of initial sounds in words (such as mop begins with the /m/ sound)-Recognize the names of a minimum of 10 letters of the alphabet. *Add gratis!
