About the application:

This Apk is an interactive lung health education program for Indigenous children/families. The Apk tells the story of four common respiratory conditions, Bronchiolitis, Pneumonia, Chronic Suppurative Lung Disease/Bronchiectasis, and Asthma and will also help basic health providers and clinicians in providing culturally-appropriate lung health education to families. Developed and published by Menzies School of Health Research, each respiratory condition is divided into various sections, including i) about the lungs, ii) description of the lung condition, iii) signs and symptoms, iv) diagnosis, v) treatment/management; and (iv) prevention with a short quiz at the end of each section. The Apk can be used without or with ‘voice-over’ in 7 local Indigenous languages from the Northern Place, Australia or English.
