From the menu you can also choose the aspect ratio of the frame tutorial overlaying your image. Magic ViewFinder also lets you apply some commonly used color presets (also known as LUTs) to the live picture, which brings you even closer to the final shot. When you have found the right view, you may save it for future reference, with extra data like the focal length, tilt and roll, date and time and camera / lens information. While taking a image, you may lock exposure and turn on and off the auto focus to better control the captured picture. At the begin there is a constant middle-speed center-based auto focus engaged to hold your photos focused. But you can tap the live screen to focus on particular objects. Long-click to return to continuous AF. If the field of view of your true camera is wider than your in-device camera, Magic ViewFinder adds 'padding' around the photo, since the device cannot 'see' what is beyond its scope. It is the best solution that we developed first, and another viewfinder apks copied this feature from Magic ViewFinder. Please note that position of your Android device device corresponds to the 'nodal point' of your true lens, which is somewhere in the middle of the lens. This point is, so to speak, the weighted center of the optics. Depth-Of-Field program: If you wish to check depth-of-field, press DOF icon and calculate the near and far limits of DOF while changing the aperture and the focus distance. Ed H: Use it constantly on set with director, and also every another department for crystal clear communication of shot setups. A good scouting program too. Catalogue possible shots and send pictures directly from apk to all relevant people. Also, I had a little glitch using it with my Nexus 5x and Roman fixed the trouble within hours. Michael Rodríguez Torrent: I use this on every shoot. Feels faster and more "native" than another viewfinder apks. Simple to use, and also contains a helpful DoF calculator. The only thing I miss from Artemis/Cadrage is the ability to save lens packages and see an overview of the various FOVs afforded by your chosen lenses.

Chris Maris: I've tried the others, all of them, and they are clumsy and fidgety when compared to this apk. Everything works here, in a easy and intuitive method, and the inbuilt dof bit is genius.

Leigh Kemp: This is a good apk. I've tried a few another "director's viewfinder" kind apks and this is the best. The others are all too fiddly to setup and to use. I particularly like the fast selection of focal lengths which I've customised to suit my range of lenses and the help for the micro four thirds format sensor. This apk is very handy to use when I'm out and about scouting places and the geotagging option is particularly useful to assist me remember where a shot was taken. The DOF fleld function is also a very nice addition to the apk. I don't use the LUT function except that it can be useful to have it enabled and take a monochrome shot. The fast change of aspect ratio is also a nice feature. A couple of fast recommendations if I may. I bought the paid ver particularly because of it making it harder to accidentally trigger deletion of preset focal lengths, please can you create this process harder as I still accidentally press in the wrong put. Also would you consider the inclusion of rule of thirds and particularly golden ration overlay grids in a future ver. Thanks for a good apk and type regards. It's a shame because it would be very useful, but it fails to give me the correct views. It may work better with a more latest smartphone than my samsung S4, but test before you buy.

Cooldude Wong: Its like owning your digital camera, with versatile lens that can zoom from widest to long telephoto focal length. Shame it couldnt replicate the DOF from the true lens. But still very usefull apks for preparing your shot. Awesome work.
