  Joe Hicks: As a climber, hiker and general outdoorsie kind, I've always loved OS maps... As a lot of negative review have pointed out, this apk in its gratis form offers a very limited (low magnification) view of the whole place, however - this is brilliant for offline driving and getting from put to put with aeroplane mode on to save battery or when there is no signal - navigating the Peaks with no signal? No trouble. The extortionate price of add on maps/'tiles'? Man up. A paper based OS map is around £15.

  Keith Phillips: Don't understand what people are moaning about. This beats pockets full of paper & does it well. So it may not be to everyones idea of "material design" but I go hiking & camping & this apk has never allow me down. Perhaps people whose outdoor experience doesn't leave the tarmac could stick with google maps... Oh... & of course an anorak.

  Mike Brewer: Can't trust all these negative reviews! This is a unbelievable apk, delivering high quality OS mapping right from the source. As for cost, how can anyone complain about paying £1.99 for a really big place of highly detailed map? For around £2.50 I have both 1:50k and 1:25k data for a really big place around my home... plenty enough for all the biking and walking I'm ever likely to do in this place. The something for nothing culture nowadays irritates me. This is the definitive map for the UK.... and if you wish gratis mapping, just use openstreetmap and quit whingeing! This is the genuine article. Also, I've tried another map apks that give access to OS mapping, but this one direct from OS allows you to zoom in to a much higher level... it is very high res mapping.

  Martin Boler: This is gorgeous. Simple to use maps on the device. 50k and 25k scales that work anywhere. So often when cycling I've been a bit lost with no signal but no more. Download the map you wish for a couple of quid and bingo.

  A Google user: Brilliant apk you can't receive lost with this apk on your smartphone. A awesome feature with this apk is, the direction you point your smartphone indicates the direction you about to take on the map, so you can never take a wrong turning. Also the map zoom is the best I've seen, so you can view all the map detail clearly.

Only improvement I can see is to place a description versus the two letter map code when loading maps after an modernize cos the letters mean nothing and it would be useful not to load all the maps back until I need them once more.

  Chris Wilkinson: I go walking quite a lot and this apk is excellent for my needs. I can plan my route in advance and then all I need is my smartphone rather than taking a paper map that might receive damaged or damp. There seem to be quite a few very critical reviews of this apk, but I don't understand most of them - they don't match my experience at all.

  Phill Norman: A lot of people are complaining about the price of the map tiles. When compared to paper maps they seem expensive but I think that's the wrong method to look at it. If I'm planning a trip I purchase only the tiles I need for that place, so, for example,north Norfolk coast is six tiles, which costs about £12.50. That's not a major expense on a weeks holiday. Apk installs OK on my latest two phones (htc one and one plus one) and no major problems when running.

It's a large apk but runs very nicely on my HTC One and the downloaded tiles are really awesome quality. Only thing I should do with is a map key though as I struggle to remember all the symbols!

  John Scotcher: After reading reviews here I nearly didn't bother. Thank goodness I did. It took a long time downloading to my Galaxy Tab 2, as did the six maps I purchased. Then went for a ten mile walk with my daughter and found it simple to use and a true premium on a route with multiple choice footpaths (on part of the North Downs Method). I will now never walk without it!

  Peter Ellison: Brilliant quality maps on my nexus 7 and smartphone. I use the maps to present me exactly where I am when out on my mountain bicycle when my garmin 800 os maps aren't clear enough. Good when walking as well. Tiles at £1.99 each seem dear, but how a lot of are you going to buy? I've got 5 that cover most of the lake district places I am likely to visit. £12.50 for perfect coverage. Seems like a bargain to me.

  A Google user: I love it.. after the initial install I have found it good. Clear maps, good function to map a trail or import one. The GPS then shows your position over the trail. Don't be place off by the another reviews. It's unbelievable. I use HTC m9 smartphone with Android device. Hold up the good work OS :) x

  Jonathan Elder: I've tried a couple of another OS map Apks on Android device, but the largest problem with them was that they either relied on an always on data connection, or use caching, which was unreliable. This Apk downloads the map tiles to the smartphone, so they are accessible even when you can't receive a signal - still annoyingly common. Be aware that bot the Apk and the tiles are large downloads - I'd recommend WiFi if you have a data limit.

  Tim Mackenzie: Maps are very reasonably priced at 1.99 per square. Perfect GPS tracking. Feels very polished and clean UI and navigation through the apk. The ONLY thing I want I had was the ability to drop and name custom pins onto the map as though I were writing in Biro on my paper maps. Can this feature be added please? - To another 1 star reviews, initial download of 350mb is little and is an initial mainframe of the map service. I have found no bugs and the price per square is bang on compared to paper maps.

  A Google user: Good Apk. I use it whenever I go on holiday in the UK. I never receive lost with it. If I stray even 50m off the correct path I can check with this apk. Better - more useful - with a larger screen than a little one. Good for tracking. Once a map is bought you can clear it from memory if you have too a lot of maps installed and then download it once more for gratis when you need it once more; so it does not consume too much memory. Love it!
