Match Up, also known as Concentration, Match Match, Memory, Pelmanism, Shinkei-suijaku, Pexeso or simply Pairs, is a card mini game in which all of the cards are laid face down on a surface and two cards are flipped face up over each turn. The object of the mini game is to turn over pairs of matching cards. The mini game ends when the latest pair has been picked up. It is a particularly awesome mini game for young kids, though adults may search it challenging and stimulating as well. The scheme is often used in quiz shows and can be employed as an educational game. Match Up may be played solo either as a leisurely exercise, or with the following scoring way: play as normal, but hold track of the number of non-matching pairs turned over. The object is to clear the tableau in the fewest turns, or to receive the lowest possible score. Over the course of the mini game, it becomes known where certain cards are located, and so upon turning up one card, users with awesome memory will be able to remember where they have already seen its pair. It is common for a lot of users to think they know where pairs are and to turn over the one they are sure of first, then be stumped finding its friend. A better tactic is to turn over a less certain card first, so that if wrong, one knows not to bother turning a more certain card over.
