mbhRemote is a remote control apk that interfaces with Global Cache' hardware devices, a built in IR blasters or another networked hardware devices. With mbhRemote and an IR blaster device such as a Global Cache' iTach IR, you can control any equipment that uses an IR remote. One or more of the following is needed by this apk: - A Global Cache' hardware device - A hardware device which can be controlled over a home network - An Android device device with a supported built in IR Blaster such as the HTC One ** Full Disclosure ** mbhRemote was designed for players who are looking for a customizable remote apk. mbhRemote must be programmed. In most cases you will have to tool each remote button individually. There is no 'magician' style setup. If you are looking for a remote apk where you choose your equipment manufacturer / model and then everything is configured for you, you could look elsewhere. Features: Communicates directly with your Global Cache' hardware or built in IR Blaster. There is no extra tool to install. Support for the following Global Cache' devices iTach IR iTach Relay iTach Serial iTach Flex devices. GC-100 GC-IRL Support for non Global Cache network devices. In the device setup screen choose device kind 'Other'. Send IR with the following devices Any Global Cache' device which supports IR Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Samsung Galaxy S4 Samsung Galaxy S5 HTC One Generic (Devices with IR hardware running Android device ver KitKat or later such as Galaxy S5) Learn IR with the following devices iTach IR iTach Flex GC-100 with GC-IRL HTC One Import IR codes from the following sources Global Cache's online IR database A Global Cache' iLearn file A text file with Pronto hex format IR codes as can be found on RemoteCentral.com Send any data to any networked device using http, raw tcp or raw udp. Button press plugin for Tasker integration. Unlimited number of remotes can be created. Unlimited number of networked devices can be configured. Multiple remote layouts - normal remote, keypad, swipe remote and smartphone remote. The swipe pad can send left, right, up, down and choose button presses with touch screen gestures. It's a good method to navigate menus and tool tutorials. The smartphone remote is a composite of the keypad, swiper and normal remote. Ability to define your own custom remote layouts. Custom layouts help buttons, buttons with custom photos, labels and photos. Each layout item can be positioned, sized and rotated. Ability to tool hardware volume buttons Import / Export to save and load programmed data User definable text for blank buttons User definable text size and color per remote which can also be overridden per button User definable button size per remote to customize the overall size of a remote Macros with an infinite number of commands Optional macro on begin of a remote Create a home screen shortcut for any remote Create a home screen shortcut for any button Auto repeat option for any IR button 3 various home screen widgets each with a special combination of buttons Several backgrounds to select from Any button can be programmed to switch to other remote. A useful approach is to use remote layout 'remote3' and set up all your remotes with the same remote switching options using the 5 buttons in the top row. For the button that represents the remote you're currently on, tool it as a macro with no commands and set the text color to green. This allows you to easily see which remote you are currently using. Other awesome approach is to use the hardware volume buttons to move forwards and backwards through a set of remotes.

Tracy R. Hill: This apk and the Global Cache IP2IR have allowed me to automate my entire home AV system: components, 3 types of switchers, etc. It doesn't really matter how a lot of you have. Not gonna lie: it's not fun taking the time to learn it and set everything up, but once it's done, you have unlimited options. You don't need to know programming, but you must have a technical thought process, and have the patience to work through figuring it all out. I didn't search my codes in the Global Cache database so I had to learn each one. Good apk!

Jimmy Lapierre: Works ok with the GC-100-12 that I found on eBay, and it is more efficient (quicker response time) than other alternative in the playstore that requires a server (mbhRemote communicates directly with the GC-100). The developer was very helpful with an problem that I had. Overall a good apk that does everything I required without added bloat.

A Google user: Very simple and fast to tool once you figure out the steps. Ability to have as a lot of remotes as you wish in one android device device is good. Obviously the price can't be beat! All I would like to see added is "prettier" buttons and more options for blank remote templates. For less than the price of a high end programmable home theater remote, you can have a nexus 7 or another inexpensive smartphone dedicated to remote control duties, with the added premium of being a good web device for viewing tool tutorials, running apks, etc.

Henrik Johnson: This to me is THE remote application for Android device. It takes a tiny bit more setup than some of the another remotes you can search but it is method more flexible with macros and also the ability to import remote IR codes for your more esoteric equipment is good. To top this off the developer is super responsive to recommendations and questions. I can't suggest this highly enough!

Alex Rodrigues: This is a good Apk to make a custom remote for your home theater system. It is super flexible once you understand how it works. I'm using the IR functionality from my Samsung Smartphone to control a lot of devices and also the IP control functionality to control another devices and it is working good. Some of the IR codes I had to download manually from the GlobalCache Control Turret database. The only reason I don't give this a 5 star is because I emailed help a few times and didn't receive any reply. For future improvements, I would add the following: 1) Ability to customize the standard remote control templates built into the program, by changing the size of the buttons, position, kind of buttons, etc. and 2) ability to add a swiper to custom layouts in order to simulate a touchpad.
