Then I did like directions said an went to Bluetooth on my Android device THROUGH SETTINGS, not Bluetooth short slash. It came right up and paired. Using till I receive fresh remote dince factory remite died in less than ine year.

  Charles Horvath: Does what it says. Connected on first test after pairing with my LG G4. There is a lot of pontential for addded features in newer versions. The current accessible controls are primary and limited but do the trick. It's not a "must have apk" yet but I'm excited to see future releases.

  SEVRATH: For all of you complaining it won't connect. Create sure your motor is powered. Then keep the wireless connection button on your motor UNTIL it beeps. Then connect the motor via Bluetooth at that time. It may take more than 30 seconds to trigger the motor to connect. Use the apk during this process. It will connect easily and modernize.

  Gary Anderson: I downloaded the apk on my Android device smartphone and powered up the motor. Created sure Bluetooth was on. When I tried to pair the motor and my smartphone I woud receive a notice that I need a passkey or Pin. I uninstalled apk a few times and still didn't work. I contacted Minkota and their response was " you don't need a passkey or Pin." Just uninstall the apk and it will fix the trouble. Go figure! This sucks!

  Roger Yost: it works then it does not. The pairing instructions were wrong. I found the true pairing way by reading through a forum (press and keep down the PAIR button on the top of the trolling motor while you tell your smartphone to pair with it). I was then able to control the motor turn the propeller on and off, adjust speed, change direction... Then suddenly the connection stopped & I had to reboot my smartphone. The motor continued to run while I did the reboot which will be a security problem at some point.
