Morse Code Intercom lets you communicate in Morse code with another players on your WiFi network (or The Internet if you begin the apk in Internet Mode), or switch to its training mode to learn Morse or improve your Morse skills. My apk does not send you distracting adverts, or pester for a rating (but ratings and reviews are much appreciated). SELECTING STARTUP MODE: When you begin the apk you will be asked to 'Set Startup Mode For Morse Intercom'. WiFi Startup: The default Intercom Mode only works with players connected to your WiFi network. Almost all Training Modes work (only receiving messages from remote players doesn't). Ring fences you from The Internet. You are invisible to anyone not physically connected to your network running the apk in WiFi mode. In WiFi/Intercom Mode nothing you send will be heard by anybody not connected to your network, you will not hear anything sent by anyone not connected to your network. Excellent for family or radio club use. In WiFi/Training Mode all options except reception of training messages sent by an intercom player NOT connected to your WiFi network work. Even newsfeed training (counterintuitively) works in WiFi mode. Internet Startup: Internet startup uses external servers to link you to another players anywhere on The Internet. All intercom and training options work. Use to chat to remote players or keep messages from remote players in training mode. INTERCOM MODE: The default startup mode. You have to switch to Training Mode. Your device behaves like a traditional Morse transceiver. Anything you transmit on a particular channel will be heard by all players listening on that channel, and you will hear messages sent by any player transmitting on that channel. This ver provides 20 channels. Unlike a regular transceiver, you can restrict who hears your transmissions to a single player, or to a little net of players. See in-app assist for details. TRAINING MODE: You can only keep not send. You define the playback speed. You can add Farnsworth delays between received heroes, reduce audio clipping that would occur with certain speed/sidetone-frequency combinations by adding a slow decay to the volume of received dots and dashes etc. Training options currently available: i) Local: Your device sends you 5 hero random groups. You define which heroes can be generated (including ITU recognised punctuation heroes), and the relative frequency with which these heroes are generated. By default, only alphabetics and numerals are generated, and alphabetics are generated 5 times as often as numerals, but you have total contol over which heroes can be generated and with what frequency they are generated. Local mode can be configured to learn using the famous Koch way. Define an initial two heroes, shop them, learn to recognise these heroes 80 to 90 percent of the time, then add other hero and repeat until you've learnt the entire code. ii) Newsfeed: Headlines are sent to you from a BBC newsfeed in Morse code. Learn Morse and stay updated with the recent news at the same time! Tap 'Present Story' and the entire story behind the headline will be displayed in your browser. iii) Remote Receive training messages from another players using the apk in Intercom Mode. You will probably wish to restrict who can send you messages (see in-app assist for how to do this). On this page there is also a link to download a desktop installable ver (Windows/Mac). Android/web/desktop versions can all work togrther. Ed Fotoh: Fun to use. I installed this, played with it a bit, and had a QSO in munutes. All at 3am!! I have to admit though that I had to have the apk decode the notice. I'm just learning the code and using the Farnsworth way so I know my letters at high (10-12 wpm) but recognition is still slow. Want I should adjust the speed my self, but still leave longer gaps. I'm suggesting this apk in all my Facebook radio groups.

Mark Messer: Apk is very nice. Have not tried the intercom feature, but have fun the training mode (especially the RSS to CW feature) quite a bit. The UI is a bit sluggish - perhaps that's due to the author using Adobe Air as a platform.
