It is a file that has uncompressed and unprocessed photo data. What MotionCam does? It tutorials your smartphone to capture raw frames at a specific time interval (24,25,30 or more). Why? Having access to Raw Data, it bypasses the smartphone stock photo processing engine that dictates excessive noise reduction and over-sharpening! As well a lot of another little artefacts due to low encoder priority. How? When we press “🔴” captured raw frames are temporarily stored in phone's memory while waiting to be written in our unique container called mcraw. We call it unique because it stores lossless compressed raw data! For example: 30 frames at 4000x3000 resolution stored in mcraw container uses 234 MB, while same frames stored as Uncompressed DNGs (Stock Camera) needs 686 MB! What to do next? Once we have the mcraw container, we have few options how to proceed: 1.Render from smartphone: mcraw > sRGB/LOG with H264/HEVC 8bit or ProRes/Cineform/VP9 10bit 2.Render from smartphone: mcraw > CinemaDNGs and use them after with external tool 3.Render mcraw to CinemaDngs or ProRes/Cineform files from🖥 PC/Mac OS using 🔗MotionCam Programs accessible for download from www.motioncamapp.com 4.mcraw files can also be loaded in Adobe Premiere/AE/ME without conversion to another formats using our fresh released plugin accessible in “🔗MotionCam Tools” Disadvantages? One Capturing raw data requires a lot of place, even if it is lossless compressed! Example: For 1 min of full sensor captured footage it is important around 7-10GB worth of data! Mitch Forte: Does exactly as advertised. Those unfamiliar with CinemaDNG will have a tough time (especially since now the only method to natively transcode it is through DaVinci Resolve. Which isn't awful, just a process. I usually convert to BMD color place and export as ProRes. Beautiful simple to work with after that. It was really awesome quality. Man, like really awesome. I appreciate the apk.

Perry Lewis: Good application allows you to record actual raw video, for me stably at 60fps 4k. Further more the burst mode is unbelievable and a feature I've wanted for a while in a camera apk. The GitHub seems to be updated regularly and has clearly been worked on. My only recommendation would be the inclusion of camera swapping to the secondary or tertiary camera on the smartphone.

I hav only one request to the devs of this apk, i use the samsung s22 ultra snapdragon ver and the camera hardware of this device is seriously top notch but unfortunately samsung's native camera apk doesn't use the camera to its fullest potential but this apk totally does, but the trouble is this apk currently supports only the ultra wide and wide lenses so plz devs create the zoom lenses also compatible with this apk coz tht will assist a lot.

Robert Spear: Often crashes on S22 Ultra. Even with all another apks closed and default setting for RAM I receive frequent crashes when using the raw video recording. This is a major flagship smartphone known for its high quality camera and performance and hopefully they will modernize to fix this soon. I'll buy pro as soon as this thing can show stable operation, but not until then.

Sami Pourali: Unbelievable idea and exceptional quality, method ahead of apple prores if you know what you're doing... But literally there isn't any sort of ease of use in any aspect of this apk. I like that it exists and i definitely gonna use it in some scenarios, But If there was a bonus ver that had filmic pro ui/features, with this app's format and photo quality, and it cost 3x of filmic pro, i would've go for it...
