Melody Theory-SoundSquares is a "mobile ear training gaming environment" designed for the beginner-to-intermediate musician. Made by the developers of ScaleNet, this apk is designed for learning to generate basic chords from melodic lines. Using a stacking tactic related to Tetris, note-blocks fall in rhythm. The user assembles the blocks to make 3-note chords--both vertically and horizontally. The notes and chords are integrated into a constantly shifting backing track. This track allows the user to develop chord construction, and chord identification skills in a true life context, but also to experiment with improvisation, and musical timing. Melody Theory-SoundSquares can be used as an ear training, or chord identification program in the classroom environment, as well as individually. Based on famous and globe melody models, and employing tactics related to Tetris, the user is introduced to familiar and unfamiliar melody, and is invited to search connections between the two. SoundSquares provides an interactive learning place associated with traditional Roman Numeral triad-driven chord progressions such as: I-IV, I-V, I-IV-V, Another progressions contain partial non-dominant 7th chords, and inverted, partia dominant 7ths. Excellent for enhancing a traditional ear-training education, SoundSquares comes pre-loaded with two very various musical styles: ROCK, which references "Mellow", "Metal" and "Dubstep" musical styles, and AFRICAN, which references both northern and southern East African musical styles. The mini game is designed for downloadable content and social media integration which will become available over the next few months. These DLC musical modules will contain Chiptune, Vintage Mini game, Blues, Hip-Hop, and VaporWave musical styles.

Sidera 17: Fun Harmony Apk Interesting take on learning to build chords. Students recognized the familiar Tetris-like video test immediately and were able to easily grasp how to build both the major triads and the tetrachords. The acoustic interaction between the noteblocks and the evolving soundtrack is excellent for ear training!

You can only line up chords in one direction. Too limiting. Only saw one key signature accessible. Not very helpful. Why African? Why not minor or jazz or something else?

Patricia Ferguson: Awful I don't know how this got 5stars. A melody mini game that allows you to build only 3 chords out of the a lot of and calling it a Melody theory mini game is not worth 5 stars. Build a better mini game interface, more options like to mute the melody, and actually play the note I tap would be nice. IF there actually are another levels present me that they exist, instead of changing the pace and background melody of the mini game suddenly. Bunch of crap .... The idea is a really awesome concept but please improve.!!
