  Yes I liked it. Sure it lags a tiny, like my GoPro. But not enough to be a trouble. I use this apk on LG G5 smart smartphone and it works good, even away from home and on the street. No trouble installing it.

  Melanie Kurtz: Updated works good once more. Thank u. Apk worked good for a few months. Lost play back a week or so ago. Modernize did not fix problem. Should still see play back by swiping back to December and then searching for playback you should see the first week of January now being the second week of January no longer works. Now its useless. Do they have timeline for correcting the apk??

  Republic Lands: I'm not sure what the problems are that everyone seems to be having....but I have a Samsung G6, and my apk works perfectly. The system was nothing to install and the picture quality is unbelievable, especially at night. Wow! Thanks Night Owl!

  James Lee: The black screens should be corrected by plugging the cable electrical plug directly into the outlet. Sometimes if you plug it into a surge protector, electricity going into the cameras is reduced causing black screens. Create sure that only the camera cable and DVR plugs are using one wall outlet. Too a lot of plugs seem to reduce the power.

  Phil Stegner: i dont know why people are saying this is a awful apk. i love it, wireless connection or not i can connect to my home, night vision works good, apk works good, cameras work good... ive had and used it for 3 weeks now, apk gives you 2 choices hd or sd vision. i only paid 150 for it, ao i absolutely love the system as a whole. once you figure out the apk, its simple to navigate. ill buy this product once more

  Edward Markle: I have had no problems. Just follow the instructions. I'm using a Samsung Note 4, secured Wi-Fi and no problems at all. Should it be improved? Sure. But for what it does and the price point it is ok. I would love to have some completely wireless cameras that are compatible with the 4K 8 input DVR system.

  darth vador: I was not able to connect with my system, had problem with Device UID. Returned and replace with the same model. Desktop and Android device apk now work. The modernize on the mobile apk allows my newer phones to work also.

  Brett Walker: It's functional and provides notifications as required. My one complaint is that it's not simple to change the notification sound for Android device. I can't change it from the apk or from Android device. Instead of the default Android device notification sound, I prefer something a tiny quieter, but I am unable to change it.

  Yes 4 stars! I'm not tech savy and only able to operate easy electronics. But I found a method for it to work 4 me. 1) Had same problems as everyone. Tried direct plug for power supplies, powering down, another apks( but couldn't figure out ports and ddns?) = no go. Researching and reading countless reviews, came across one that intrigued me. It stated these kinds of system requires a reboot at least once a day! 2) Fine, I was skeptical. After all, 99% of replies from night owl states to reboot and modernize the firewall. They could have stated this needs to be done DAILY! 3) I unplugged and powered up at least once a day. YES it worked! The apk may need to be uninstalled and reinstalled once in a while but I am willing to do that. ( if ur apk DVR states 0 cameras, could reboot and un & reinstall apk to present 8) 4) How am I going to do this if I'm away? I thought about wireless plugs but some were complicated and fire problems. Than I thought a easy timer. Cheap programable timer allowed me to schedule 2 reboots a day. 2 weeks and so far so awesome! Pros: Good deal on sale $250. Long wires to work with. Was able to close my windows with the wire so I didn't need to drill any holes, YAY! Awesome picture/resolution and memory. Simple set up to apk, no need to input ports or ddns fancy computer items. Cons: Not enough details in instruction nor apk website. DVR gets true hot. Heat sensor is non existing or not sensitive enough (trees set off recording more than possums or skunks) Hope this helps!

  Charlie Dunn: The cameras and DVR system works as expected. Had a trouble setting up the DVR to record and help was good to work with. The recording come out good. The desktop tool needs to have administrator chosen to work but is still a awful tool. Does not allow you choose the playback of past recordings. This apk is about the same as the desktop tool. Needs a lot of improvement.... Since we purchased the system from Costco we are hoping that they place a lot of pressure on them to improve the apks and tool. Updated by player: 01-19-2018 - Apk was updated and now appears to work correctly. I am changing this to 4 stars

  David Pabon: Modernize: I called their customer service and they talked me through the fix. Basically through the apk itself you delete the connected device. Then scan for a fresh device and add your DVR just like a fresh install. Unlike another players I have been able to access all video from previous dates.

  Cam N: The apk has worked good for me. I've owned the system nearly three weeks now and I've only had minor problems. One of them being black screens when trying to view remotely. Coming from a technical background I was able to troubleshoot this problem without contacting technical help and I've NOT encountered the problem since. The method I was able to overcome this trouble, was by "better" securing the ethernet cable on the DVR side. For some reason my ethernet port is loose-fitting. Therefore causing a Communications loss. This is/was the only complaint I have about the system. However, After reading multiple reviews. I've seen a common occurrence throughout, and ultimately the reason you're not receiving five stars. That would be the repetitive use of the word "troubleshooted"... I'm not trying to be the grammar police but,... I trust the correct verbiage is "troubleshot". Matter a fact I KNOW the correct word is troubleshot so please don't ever use the word troubleshooted once more. Thank you. Another than that. I think it's a good system for the price and I look forward to adding more cameras. Specifically a PTZ with two-way audio that has the capabilities of being controlled by the apk. Along with not sacrificing that good video quality and maintaining is affordability. **Tip Tip**

  Hoa Ly: Installed for my business. Works very well. I found a temporary fix for the black screen trouble: begin the apk, wait a few second, close it, reopen it. This works every time for me. I am sure a true fix will come soon. I will install one for my home as well.
