NIU Secure is the official security apk of Northern Illinois University. It is the only apk that integrates with Northern Illinois University's security and safety systems. NIU Department of Police and Public Security has worked to develop a special apk that provides students, faculty and staff with added security on the NIU campus. The apk will send you necessary security alerts and provide instant access to campus security resources. NIU Secure features contain: - Emergency Contacts: Contact the correct services for the NIU place in case of an emergency or a non-emergency concern - Panic Button / Mobile Bluelight: Send your place to Public Security in real-time in case of a crisis - Mate Walk: Send your place to a mate through email or SMS on your device. Once the mate accepts the Mate Walk request, the player picks their destination and their mate tracks their place in true time; they can hold an eye on them to create sure they create it safely to their destination. - Advice Reporting: Multiple methods to report a safety/security concern directly to NIU Public Security. - Virtual WalkHome: Let NIU Public Security to monitor a user’s walk. If a player feels unsafe when walking on campus, they can request a Virtual WalkHome and a dispatcher on the another end will monitor their adventure until they reach their destination. - Security Toolbox: Enhance your security with the set of programs provided in one convenient apk. - Chat with Safety: Communicate live with security staff at NIU via chat. - Notification History: Search previous Push Notifications for this apk with the date and time. - Share Map with your Place: Send your place to a mate by sending them a map of your position. - I’m OK!: Send your place and a notice indicating that “You’re OK” to a recipient of your selecting. - Campus Maps - Campus Map: Navigate around the NIU place. - Transit Map: Search transit routes currently in service. - Emergency Plans: Campus emergency documentation that can prepare you for disasters or emergencies.
