About the application:

CSIR - National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur has launched a mobile application "Noise Tracker" to spread awareness versus noise pollution. The Noise Tracker apk (Sound Meter Apk) has been developed by young researchers from CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur. The Noise Tracker Apk is a true time noise monitoring application dedicated to evaluate noise levels in the surrounding environment as professional sound meter performs. This Apk will use the smartphone microphone to measure environmental noise levels (decibels) and display noise levels on the mobile screen. With this apk, you can measure the current noise level emerging from different type of sources efficiently and effectively. Easy operation and simple for handling. Features: - Indicates decibel by gauge (both analog and digital) - Fast response on sound level changes - Display the current noise reference - Display SPL,Leq, Minimum and Maximum decibel values - Display Elapsed time of decibel - Data storage in smartphone - SPL player can save sound meter data along with GPS co-ordinates in the smartphone - Saved data can be viewed in a tabular as well as in a Map format. - The saved data can be shared across multiple platforms such as Gmail, WhatsApp etc. - Sound calculator – Addition, Ldn (Day-Night average SPL) Barrier attenuation calculation Recommendations for the 'best' measurement: - The phone microphone could not be hidden. - The phone could not be in the pocket but could held on hand while noise measurements. - Don’t create a noise on the back of the phone while monitoring noise. - Hold a secure distance from the source during noise monitoring, otherwise it may hurt you. Noise Tracker, Noisetracker, Sound Meter, Sound Level Meter, Decibel Meter, dB Meter, Noise Pollution, Noise Monitoring, Sound meter app **Notes This program is not a professional device to measure decibels. Microphones in most android device devices are aligned to human voice. The maximum values are limited by the device. Very loud sounds (over ~90 dB) may not be recognized in most devices. So please use it as just auxiliary programs. If you need more accurate dB values, we suggest an actual sound level meter for noise measurements.
