  Drew Johnson: It's good, obviously it's the nyt crossword, so the quality is about as high as it gets for crosswords. The interface is intuitive and simple to understand, sleak and I haven't noticed any bugs or anything. The only downfall is the fact that a subscription to nyt is needed to play beynd a week long trial. I would love to subscribe, but I'm a student, so it's just not worth it.

  Buggy As others have commented, if you leave it to go to other apk or even to check other screen, quite often it will wipe out half the puzzle or more. For a subscription apk from a really big media company, this is unacceptable!

  Alex Schindler: I've had no true problems, though apk should afford to be a tiny clearer about how to place more than one letter in a square when called for (you need to search the rebus option, probably to the left of Z on your keyboard), and the fact that you don't receive full credit for finishing a puzzle if you check accuracy of anything - it'd be nice to know the guidelines before unintentionally breaking a streak.

  Lars Norpchen: Price for subscription is too high, but that's not the app's fault. Puzzle packs could be gratis with subscription. Should use some convenience enhancements like 'clear all wrong squares' menu option, arrows on the keyboard, font size adjustment or zoom, and showing unique instructions for puzzles that have unusual features. Puzzle archive selection should use more details, like titles and filter by difficulty, present only incomplete, etc. But the basics are solid: doesn't crash, usable UI, and the best puzzle writers.

  Justin Miller: I'm very satisfied that there is finally an Android device apk. I have been playing on my iPad Mini for more than a year now, but my smartphone goes everywhere with me. It took a tiny bit of time to figure out how to sync my subscription that was paid for through the iTunes shop, but I got it and am glad that I was able to do so without having to pay for a second subscription. The only thing that seems to be missing is a link to the Wordplay blog from inside the apk. Otherwise, good!

  William Voorhees: I would love to actually be able to use the apk on my smartphone. I made my NYTimes acc by signing into my Google acc but the apk doesn't give you the option to log in this method. It asks you for your email and password, but I don't think I technically have a password since it's just linked to my Google acc. Edit: If you're stuck in this situation, you can just restart your password and log in with your fresh details. I can use the apk now and it's a good method to slay time while also using your brain. Thanks to Daniel for the help.

  Daniel Packer: Well, it's hard to create a crossword puzzle apk in general, but I think this one does a awesome job. The only problem is being able to click on one square in the Sunday puzzles which can receive difficult. I hardly see any reason to pay for their additional puzzles when you can go back in time for gratis ones. I don't really see that as a valid complaint. Idk
