About the application:

The Town of Taft's birthday bash pays homage to the hardy men and women who migrated to this dusty southwestern corner of the San Joaquin Valley when oil seeps were detected shortly after the turn of the century. Oildorado runs for 10 days, and it has something for everyone. Previous happenings have included a grand parade, melodrama, queen pageant, entertainment, barbecues, dances, motorcycle races, vehicle present, civic luncheon, carnival, Globe Fight II aircraft exhibit and fly-in, art and craft fair, oilfield skills contests and much more. Our next celebration is taking put October 8-17, 2021. Oildorado is planned and carried out by an all-volunteer non-profit corporation with plenty of assist from local schools, clubs, churches, and service and fraternal organizations that sponsor happenings and activities and raise some cash to boot. Oildorado, Inc. coordinates the a lot of activities that create up the celebration and raises funds for the next event. An eight-member Executive Board of Directors oversees the workings of a Board of Directors and Community Liaisons responsible for planning happenings sponsored directly by Oildorado, Inc. and coordinating activities of another organizations. Simply place, it takes an entire city working together to place on something as large and fun-filled as Taft Oildorado Days.
