This has proven to be problematic because we cannot control the ver of that component, and cannot make batter it directly when bugs are found. In addition, Google has created it very difficult to effectively control the network proxy settings of all aspects of this component, making it difficult to guarantee that traffic will not leak on all devices and OS versions.Orweb also only provides a very limited amount of capability of Tor Browser, primarily similar to reducing browser fingerprinting, minimizing disk writes, and cookie and history management. It trys to mimic some of the settings of Tor Browser, but doesn’t actually use any of the actual code written for Tor Browser safety hardening.

Kim Scheibel: Combined with NoScript, Orfox puts me back in control of my browsing experience. Fair warning: Because a lot of sites rely on the type of unsafe (abusive?!) practices Orfox is intended to prevent, the functionality of those sites may suffer. The reply to this is of course to insist that those sites instead use secure practices, and not to just shrug and agree their ignoring the security of their players.
