About the application:

OVERDUE is a trip planning, trip registration and check-in service, also incorporating offline maps, equipment checklist program and geographically targeted security messaging. After you register your trip plan securely online, your emergency contacts will be alerted and sent a copy of your trip plan if you do not check-in before your selected “alert time”. The trip plan initially provides your emergency contacts the info they need to check if you are secure. If they cannot confirm you are secure, they are then able to forward your trip plan to emergency services to initiate a search/rescue operation. Trip plans can be optionally shared to social media or directly to contacts via SMS/email. This allows mates and family members to view your trip plan before you set out and then follow your progress using the app’s in-built tracking feature (contingent on a data connection being accessible to modernize your online trip plan). OVERDUE’s messaging system is designed to function worldwide and supports messaging to contacts across international boundaries. The player interface has in-built help for various languages. OVERDUE has access to a library of high-quality maps that can be downloaded for offline use in the backcountry. The map library includes both purchasable and gratis maps. OpenStreetMap is used for the default map background. “Map find” helps you identify the appropriate paper map for your trip – still considered a necessity in this age of technology. OVERDUE is accessible as a monthly subscription, and contains a 30-day gratis trial period. Some specialty maps (detailed topo etc.) are only available by in-app purchase. E-Map purchases are usable within the apk (navigation mode only) regardless of subscription status. OVERDUE is the security net that every outdoor recreationalist could have.
