About the application:

Offline map of Palm Springs and Palm Desert, California and surrounding place for business and tourist visitors. Download before you go or using your hotel's Wi-Fi and avoid expensive roaming charges. The map runs completely on your device; map display with pan and unlimited zoom, routing, find, bookmark, everything. It does not use your data connection at all. Switch your smartphone function off if you wish to! No advertisements. All features fully functional, you do not need to buy add-ons. The map contains Palm Springs in the west through Palm Desert to Coachella in the east as well as Desert Hot Springs and some surrounding wilderness areas. The map is based on OpenStreetMap data, http://www.openstreetmap.org. How awesome is it? In summary, awesome, probably complete coverage of streets and street names but still in the early days of mapping amenities like hotels, territories to eat, things to do and see, shops, banks. You can assist improve it by becoming an OpenStreetMap contributor. The apk contains a find function and a gazetteer of commonly required stuff like hotels, eating territories and pharmacies as well as museums and another things to see and do. You can bookmark territories like your hotel for simple return navigation using "My Places". Simple Turn-by-turn navigation is accessible. If you don't have a GPS device, you can still present a route between two places. Navigation will present you an indicative route and can be configured for vehicle, bike or foot. The developers provide it without any guarantee that it is always correct. For example, OpenStreetMap data does not not always turn restrictions - territories where it is illegal to turn. OpenStreetMap data in the USA is based on US government data which sometimes shows personal driveways as streets and wrongly connected streets, OpenStreetMap massively edits these, but beware. Use with care and above all look out for and obey street signs. Like most little developers, we cannot try a wide dozens of phones and tablets.
